MATERIALS ENGINEERING
ENGINEERING:It is the application of scientific principles and mathematics to design, develop and
improve in structures, systems and processes to solve problems in our society.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Is a branch of engineering that combines engineering physics and mathematics principles with materials
science to design, analyze, manufacture and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
They also work on power production machines such as electricity production generators, internal
combustion engines,steam and gas turbines.
These engineers run test on all mechanical devices, tools, engines and machines in other to avoid failure.
CIVIL ENGINEERING
This is one of the oldest of engineering field. Civil engineering base on mathematical knowledge on
geometry, calculus and physical sciences.
These engineers oversee the construction of transportation systems, roads, Bridges, architecture and
other infrastructures underlying daily life.
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
Is a field of engineering which deals with the study of operation and design of chemical plants as well as
methods of improving production.
They devise processes for producing chemicals and products such as amonia fertilizer, agrochemicals,
cement, gasoline, plastics and many others to improve production by applying the principles and
technologies of chemistry, physics and engineering.
BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING
Is the application of engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare
purposes.
This group of engineers focus on advancing in technology and medicine to develop new devices and
equipment such as dialysis machines to improve human health.
NUCLEAR ENGINEERING
This is one of the powerful field of engineering.
Nuclear engineers carry-out research and develop processes using nuclear energy and radiation to
produce electricity, power spacecraft and advance medicine.
Nuclear engineers also design nuclear batteries used in spacecraft, satellites and rovers.
SOUND ENGINEERING
It is a branch of engineering where engineers work on the technicality of sound. The engineers deal with
the technical aspects like recording, editing, mixing and mastering of sound.
Sound engineers are the heart and soul of the music industry.
In effect, sound engineers are the backbone of quality and clarity of the sound of music.
OPTICAL ENGINEERING
Is the field of science and engineering including the physical phenomena and technologies associated
with the generation, transmission, manipulation, detection and utilization of light.
Optical engineers use optics to solve problems and to design and build devices that make light do
something useful. Some of the optical instruments are; Lenses, microscope, telescope and among
others.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
It is an engineering discipline concerned with the study, design and application of equipments, devices
and systems which uses electricity, electronics and electromagnetism.
Electrical engineers contribute to the society by designing, developing, testing and supervising the
manufacture of electrical equipments. Eg. Power generation equipment, automobiles, electric motors
and many more.
