members, Name of the instructor to be submitted and Date of Submission

✓ Left margin: ≥ 3.5 cm, Right margin: ≥ 2.0 cm, Top margin: ≥ 3.0 cm and Bottom margin: ≥ 2.5
cm

✓ Spacing: 1.5, Front size: 12 and Font type: Times New Roman

Reference: Cite in appropriate way all references that you’ve used while writing the assignment.

Group Assignment (Common to all group)

1. What are the different phases in project management? Describe them in detail
2. List and describe the five different key factors that will help in success of the project?
3. Define a project and enumerate the characteristics which help differentiate projects from
other functions carried out in the daily operations of an organization.
4. Projects are often completed late. Describe the techniques that could be used to improve
the accuracy and reliability of project schedule.
5. Identify and discuss project risk strategies employed to address threats that the project
may face.
6. During the execution of a project, a risk is identified by team member. This currently
identified risk is not in a risk register. As a project manager, what is the first action you
would take after being notified of the risk?
7. What is the role of the Project Manager, mentioning the 3 (three) characteristics that
makes an effective project manager?
8. Describe six reasons why projects fail and, in your opinion, how can such failures be
prevented.
9. Write down the useful steps are for successful Project stakeholder management
10. Mention and discuss the main five resources required in construction projects
11. The Project Manager can be seen to be in charge of risk management on the project but
risk management is often seen as the responsibility of everyone involved in the project
including project team members, sponsors, key business unit stakeholder and the like.

a. Identify and describe three common techniques used in quantitative risk
analysis.
b. Describe the information that you would expect to find in a ‘risk register’.
c. Describe the four basic response strategies for negative risks
12. Assume you are a project manager in one construction company project. How do you
deal with underperforming project team members? Give your answer in detailed manner.
13. What is Work Breakdown Structure (WBD) and how does it affect the work estimates of
tasks/activities? give your answer in detail
14. Describe all the steps involved from the time of project initiation to project completion?
For each stage phase the project follows, briefly mention the following:
o The main objective of that phase
o The key people involved in each phase
15. Mention in detail the most important skill of a Project Manager and discuss why?
16. What are the factors that need attention to about the resources while selecting project
team?
