How to play:
- Have all the Ss stand up and give one student a ball (make sure it is soft).
- Have the students toss the ball to each other while saying a word from chosen topic

- Any student who drops the ball or can’t say the word/ structure must sit
down. The last S to stand wins the game.

3. Basketball:
Materials:
- Basket/ Trash bin/ Box
- Ball
- Word sets/ structures to review
How to play: Ss take a shot at the trash can/box/etc.
- First ask a question/ show a flash card to a S.
- If s/he answers correctly then s/he can have a shot at the basket. If the S gets the
ball in the basket then s/he wins 2 points. If the S hits the basket without going
inside then s/he wins 1 point.
- The person who gets the most points is the winner.
- This can also be played in teams.
4
4. Question Ball.
Material: Ball
How to play:
- Have the students sit in a circle.
- Throw/Roll a ball to one student and ask a question. The next step has 2

teacher throws to another student asking a different question. Variation
2: Student1 throws the ball to a different student and asks that student the same
question.

5. Hot potato
Material: A ball, a piece of music.
How to play:
- Have SS sit on their chairs or on the floor.
- Give the ball to one S then play the music.
- T stops the music whenever she/he wants. When the music stops, the SS holding

word. If the SS’ answer is correct, give him/ her a star/ point.
- Start the game over.

6. Bowling game
Material:
- Ball, bowling pins.

her points.
- Variation: This game can play in teams. Divide SS into 2-3 teams. Each time, call 1 S
from each team to come forward, the S who can give the correct answer gets the
chance to throw the ball to get points for his/ her team. The team with most points
wins the game.

5
FLASHCARD GAME BANK
7. Adverb Action:
How to play:
- T writes on the board an activity like "brush your teeth."
- S/He picks one student, they come to the front of the class. The T then shows the S
a card with an adverb written on it, such as "slowly". The chosen student then does
the activity in the way of the adverb. The other Ss have to guess the adverb.
- The one who guesses right gets a point and mimes the next action which the
teacher writes on the board. To help them you can give them a list of options, if you
think they need some help.

8. Alphabet Line Up:

How to play: This is a good way to teach the alphabet to your class.
- Give each S an alphabet flashcard with a different letter of the alphabet on it,
starting at "A" (e.g. if you have 7 Ss, give flashcards A through to G).
- Have the SS move around the room to music. When the music stops, they must line
up in order. You can also play with missing letters (e.g.. Give a "c", then an "f", a "k",
an "o", etc).

9. Alphabet Soup:
How to play:
- Place plastic letters in a bowl.
- Divide flashcards by their beginning letters. Each student draws a letter from the
bowl and then finds the flashcards associated with that letter.

10. Alphabet Wave:

Divide the a-z flashcards among all your students. Put Ss in a line and play the ABC song. As it
plays each student must hold up their corresponding alphabet flashcard.

11. Basketball Card Line-Up:

Material: cards, basket.
How to play: This game is like basketball game but more educational.
- Place 2 lines of several cards. You need 2 players and a basket far away. To shoot
the basket from far away is hard so the players need to say the card and make their
way closer and closer to the basket. When they feel that they can throw and hit the
basket, they make their attempt.
6
12. Cat & Mouse:
How to play:
- Have students sit in a circle.
- After reviewing the chosen set of flashcards, place them in a pile in the center of the
circle. Take the first card and show it to everybody. Have one student walk around
the outside of the circle saying words from the specific subject – like fruits or days -
while touching each student of the circle on the head.
- When the "magic" word is said, the student whose head is touched at that time,
must stand up and chase the student who touched them around the circle. The first
one to sit in that spot remains seated and chooses the next "magic" word. The
student standing begins again; "Sunday...Monday…"

13. Cross the River:

How to play:
Place flashcards on floor in winding manner. Each represents a stepping stone in the river, as
students must say word/phrase/question/etc in order to step on it and cross the river!

14. Easy & Hard:

Materials: You need at least 20 cards to play which you divide into 2 piles face down: An Easy
and a hard pile.
How to play:
- Give each team 50 points from beginning. Pick a student and ask if they would like
an easy or a hard card, also ask how many points they would like to risk on
knowing the answer: Easy 1-5 and hard 5-10.

15. Flashcard Fun:

Hold up a flashcard and elicit the answer from a S. Ss can win the flashcard if they
answer correctly. The S with the most flashcards at the end is the winner.

16. Guessing Question Game:

T hides any flash card behind his/her back and Ss try to guess what the object is by
asking questions: "Is it a dog?", "Is it a ball?", "Is it a book?", etc. until they guess the
flashcard.

17. Hint Animal Game:

- As a review of animal flashcards, T holds some cards without showing any to the
Ss. Then the T tells the kids that they are going to receive 3 hints, so they need to
listen carefully. For example: 1. I am yellow. 2. I have long hair. 3. I am strong. Who
am I? Well, a lion of course!

7
- You can make it in deferent levels depending on how much English you use or
which vocab you use.
18. Musical Flashcards:
- Ss walk around some flashcards in a circle as some music is playing.
- When the music stops T shouts out a flashcard and the Ss must race to step on that
card. The first S to step on it keeps the card (1 point) and the game continues.

19. Musical Chair Alphabet:

Place chairs in the form of musical chairs with alphabet flashcards placed on them.
Start the music when the music stops the students pick up their flashcards and have to
read the sound on the flashcard. The child who is unable to read is out of the game.

20. Pictionary:
Good for reviewing vocab. Pick a S and show him/her a flashcard picture or whisper a
word into his/her ear. The S draws the picture on the board and the first S to guess the
picture gets to draw the next picture. This can also be played in teams with a point
system.

21. Shopping:
This can be used with a wide range of flashcards (food pictures work well). Gather all
the Ss and show them all the flashcards you have. Ask a S "What do you want?" (or
maybe "What would you like?" to higher levels). The S should reply (e.g. "a hamburger,
please"). T then says "Here you are" and the S finishes with "Thank you". At the end
collect the objects by playing the 'Give Me' game. (Give me Game: T asks the card
she/he wants to gets. The SS bring the card to the T saying “Here you are”).

22. Slow motion:

- T holds a pack of flashcards with the pictures facing towards him/her.
- The last card should be turned around so it is facing the Ss but is hidden as it is
behind the pack. Slowly pull the flashcard up inch by inch so the Ss can only see
part of the flashcard. As the picture is slowly revealed Ss try and guess what it is.
- The first S to guess correctly keeps the card (for 1 point). Variation: To make it a
little more difficult, turn the flashcard upside down.

23. Tic Tac Toe (BINGO variation)

- Place 9 flashcards (representing words, phrases, questions, etc) face down and
numbered (or letters of alphabet) on a large taped grid on the floor.

joker says the truth.
For example, S1: What do you have? S2: I have (an apple). S1 can challenge S2
saying, I don’t believe you. S2 shows his/her card. If S1 is wrong, he/she is out. If
she/he is correct, that S gets a point. Repeat the game.

letter shapes instead of writing on the board.

58. Word Chain:

Have the Ss to sit with T in a circle. T says a word (or sentence) and then the next S repeats
that word and adds a new word. S2 then says the 2 words and adds another. Continue going
around the circle until the list gets too long to remember!

59. Relay:
Make 2 teams and line them up as far away from the board as possible. Call out a word to the
first members of each team, and they have to run to the board, write the word and run back to
his/her next teammate. The process is repeated for each student and the team that finishes
first is the winner.
Variation: T Whispers the words. The S draw the picture. He/She can only run back to his/her
team when his teammates guess what the picture is.

60. Stop the Bus:

All Ss need pencil and paper to play this game. The T writes a letter on the board, and shouts,
"Start the bus." The students then write down as many words beginning with this letter as
they can think of. When one S shouts out, "Stop the bus!" everyone has to stop writing. The
students all get one point for each word. The S who has the most words wins an extra 2 point.
This may or may not be the one who shouted, "Stop the bus."

61. Simon Says:

You could change Simon to your name to avoid confusion. When T says a sentence without
the word "Simon" (e.g. "Touch your knees") then Ss shouldn't follow that instruction. If a S
makes a mistake s/he has to sit out until the next round

62. Question Chain:

Have the Ss sit in a circle. T asks the S next to him/her a question (e.g. "What's your
name?" "Do you like chocolate cake?" etc.) and the S has to answer the question and then ask
the S next to him/her the same question. Continue around the circle and then start a new
question. It helps to use a ball to pass around as the questions are being asked and answered.

63. Pictionary:

18
Good for reviewing vocab. Pick a S and whisper a word into his/her ear. The S draws the
picture on the board and the first S to guess the picture gets to draw the next picture. This can
also be played in teams with a point system.

64. Odd-One-Out:
Write 3 or four words on the board. Ss must circle the odd-one-out (e.g. cat - horse - cake -
bird).

65. Name Memorizing Game:

Have children sit in a circle. Start by saying "my name is.." and then answer a question about
yourself. For example "My name is Jo and I like the color Purple." The next person says "This is
Jo and he likes the color purple and my name is Rose and I am 8 years old." The next person
says "That is Jo he likes Purple, this is Rose and she is 8 and I am Jeremy and I like the color
blue." It's a chain and the kids have to repeat what the last people have said about themselves.
It's really hard to be the last person in the circle!

66. Make Words Game:

Write a few random letters on the board. Have the Ss work in pairs/small groups to make up
as many words from the letters as possible (e.g. letters: g, h, a, t, p, e, c. Possible words: cat,
peg, tea, hat, get, etc.). The team with the most words is the winner.

67. Last Letter, First Letter:

Have the Ss sit in a circle with you. T starts by saying a word, then the S to the T's right must
make a word that starts with the last letter of the word that the T said (e.g. bus --- steak ---
key --- yellow --- etc.). Continue around the circle until someone makes a mistake

68. Follow the leader:

- Ss line up behind the T and follows him/her around the classroom. The T does an
action and shouts out the word for that action. The Ss copy the action and repeat
the word. Good actions include: wave hello/goodbye, it's cold/hot, stop, go, run,
hop, skip, crawl, walk backwards, jump, sit down, stand up.
- Choose a S to be the leader and continue the game.

69. Do as I say, not as I do:

A 'Simon says' game with a difference.
- First practice Simon Says with the Ss so that they understand the game and body
parts.
- Then tell them to do as you SAY, not as you do, and repeat playing the game - only
this time, when you say 'touch your knees' etc, touch your ears instead, or any
other part of your body.
19
70. Directions:
Build a model of a town, including some streets or draw a neighborhood on the board. Use
a radio controlled car (a toy) and give the controller to Ss. Practice directions, e.g. drive
two blocks and turn right, and so on.

71. Category Writing Game:

Divide the classroom into two or three groups. Each group chooses their "captain". The
teacher writes on the board a word like "FRUIT" or "COLORS" or "ANIMALS", etc. Each
group has to tell their captain to write down as many words as they can which belong to
that category. They have 1 or 2 mins. Each group takes 1 point for each word. Correct
Spelling is very important in this exercise!

72. Banana Race:

It is basically a QUIZ game in which you ask children questions (Target Vocabulary) like:
"What's this? What fruit is red and round? How many chairs are there in the classroom?"
or the T simply draws items on the board, makes animal noises so that they guess. You can
work with Ss or split the class into small groups/teams if you have a large class. The T
draws on the board a race track and each team or S will be a BANANA waiting at the
Starting Line. They will approach the Goal line as they answer each question. Each right
answer equals a step towards the Goal Line. The BANANA who arrives there first, WINS!

73. Secret detective

- Write the vocab list on the board
- Choose 1 student to be the "detective"
- Ask him/her to leave the room, while you choose 1 other student to be the "secret
student"
- Have the "secret student" come up with a signal (i.e. raise eyebrows, blink eyes,
etc.)
- Call the "detective" back in the room
- Instruct the rest of the class to chant the first word in the list (on the board) until
you get the signal from the "secret student" to change to the next one
- The "detective" moves around the room, trying to find the "secret student"
- If s/he guesses before the end of the list, then the "secret student" becomes the
"detective".

74. Make the most words

- Write a long word on the board like December or hospital.
- In twos, ask students to make as many new words from it as they can.
- Use even longer words to make the game last longer.
- Score teams points per word, extra points for the longest words made.
20
75. Mixed-up sentence
- Write a sentence on the board with the word order all mixed- up.
- Students then have to reconstruct the sentence so it makes sense.
Example: Banana is a this.

76. How many sounds can you hear?

- Get Students to sit in silence for two or three minutes
- Tell them to write down every sound that they hear.
- Compare their lists with their other students and see who has the longest.

77. Name ten

- Students have to think of 10 items for a certain criteria.
- Students take turns writing one on the board or saying on the spot.
Examples: sports that involve a ball, animals with fur, popular football teams, parts of
the body that are three letters.

78. Word Association

- Give a word like apple or write on board.
- Student should takes it in turns to say a word associated with the previous word.
- If it’s not an obvious connection, ask students why. Example: Apple-banana-
monkey-zoo-elephant

79. Letter string dictation

- Think of a couple of questions for students to discuss in pairs or groups.
- Write the questions down, then dictate them as a long string of letters.
Example: whatisyourfavouriteflavourofpizza? Whatkindofbooksdoyouread?

80. Pronunciation Whispers

- Divide the class into two teams, each team has to form a line.
- Tell each team a different word.
- Students then whisper the word to the student next to them
- If the last team member pronounces the word correctly, that team wins.

81. Line up
- Think of three questions (maybe two basic questions and one interesting question).
- Write the questions on the board.
- Separate the students into two lines so that they are facing each other.
- When you say “go”, student asks the person opposite the question.
- Once the first student has asked all 3 questions and answered, say “switch”.
- One line will remain while the other moves down one.
21
82. Pass the marker
Have two groups, put them into 2 lines and give the marker to the first student in the
line.
When you say the word to practice, the first student must pass the marker until it
reaches the last student in the line.
The last student will quickly write the word on the board.
Give points for the group that finish first.

83. Rock, scissors, paper bet

On the board write + or - 1/+ or - 5/+ or – 10.
Divide the students into teams.
Have two students put together a sentence.
The first student to say it correctly has to choose a number 1, 5 or 10.
Rock, scissors, paper!!!!
If they select 5 and win, they get +5. If they select 5 and lose, they get -5.

84. Tongue Twisters

- Create 3 different tongue twisters using the phonics you are teaching for the lesson.
- Write them on the board.
- Choose a student and say the phoneme or sound (not the letters).
- Students must circle the words that contain those letters.
- If students are a higher level, get them to try and say as fast as they can.

85. Board race

- Split the class into two teams, each team has a colored marker.
- If it’s a very large class, split the students into teams of 3 or 4.
- Draw a line down the middle of the board and write a topic at the top.
- The students must then write as many words as they can related to the topic (like a
relay race).
- Each team wins one point for every correct word. Don’t count words that are
unreadable or misspelled.

86. Bang
- Students form in to a circle.
- The teacher represents a cowboy in the center of the circle.
- Teacher makes a gun shape with their hand. Teacher points to a student (shoots
them) and says the target vocab.
- This student ducks and the Students on either side of them must shoot each other
with the answer. The first to say the vocab correctly wins, whilst the second is out.

22
87. Everybody’s an artist
- Teacher thinks of descriptions of people.
- You group the students into teams and choose one student from each team to come
to the board and draw someone you describe.
- Make the descriptions very funny, like a fat man with one eye, a big nose, big butt.
- Tell the descriptions only twice, and make them as complex or as simple as you
want.

88. Messenger and Scribe

- Create a barrier between the board and the back of the room.
- Split students into two teams or more.
- Students shout the word (eg. "chicken"), then the spelling (eg. c-h-i-c...) to their
partner, who writes it on the board.
- First team to finish gets one point.

89. The wacky drawing race

- Split the class into teams then you split the board according to the number of
teams.
- Have the first person from each group come up.
- Elicit a sentence such as "Pikachu is eating pizza and swimming". Try and make it
as funny and crazy as possible.
- Students draw the picture that you've stated as fast as they can.
- After each round, to get the students more involved, do a class vote for the
"best/most interesting picture.
- Continue this until everyone in the group has participated.

90. Clap and count

- Tell students you are going to play a clapping game then show them a picture of a
familiar object, ask them to name the object, then ask them to say the word again
while clapping to its beat.
- For example, "apple" -- "ap (clap)" "ple (clap)." Next, ask them to repeat the
clapping rhythm while counting aloud
- "(clap) one" "(clap) two." Ask them how many times they clapped. When they
respond, explain that "apple" is made up of two sound bites called syllables.
- Show additional pictures, and let students continue clapping and counting their
way through the vocabulary review.

91. Around the world

- Start at one side of the classroom and have two students stand up.
- Show them a flashcard, if the first student says it correctly moves on to the next
student (with the losing student sits down).

23
- The aim is to go “around the world”, reading the different flashcards without being
beaten and thus returning to the desk where you started.

92. Dice gambling

- Students get into 2 teams.
- Ask one student from each team to do a pre-designated task (such as a sentence
with a vocabulary word, spelling a word, etc.).
- If the student can do this correctly, tell him/her that you will give them 3 points, or
they can choose to roll the dice instead.
- If they choose the dice, they can get more points or less.
- Alternatively choose a number to be a BOMB, if that number rolls, the student loses
all their points.

93. Phonics hammer

- Put the kids' desks in a circle.
- Give each student a phonics flashcard and have them hold it up so everyone can
see.
- You stand in the middle of the circle, holding a plastic hammer or just use your
hand.
- Choose one kid to start - he/she has to read one of the other kids' flashcards, the
person who has that flashcard must read another student's flashcard, and so on.
- If you can hit the desk of the student whose card has been read before he/she is
able to read another card, then that student comes to the circle, and you take
his/her place.

94. Touch
- Place flashcards around the room and have students run around the classroom and
touch the cards when you give the command. “Touch the bus, touch the car”.
- The Body Building Game
- Split the class into teams.
- On the board draw limbless, featureless faces.
- Tell the front person in each group to stand up.
- You then ask the kids who are standing up a question. The quickest one to raise
their hand can answer, if they're correct, they get to roll an inflatable dice (I
actually made a big dice out of cardboard).
- If they get a "1" they can draw an eye on their team's face. If
- they have a "2" they can draw an ear. Similarly, "3" is a nose, "4" is a mouth, "5" is
an arm and "6" is a leg.
- Each team can only have one nose, one mouth, and two each of everything else.
- For example, if your team already has 2 arms, and you roll another number "5" then
that go is a "pass" because you can't add another arm.

24
- The winning team is the first team to get 2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 nose, 1 mouth, 2 arms and
2 legs. If you run out of time then the team with the most features is the winner!

95. Volcano game

- The teacher cuts up paper into little squares, writes an English word on the paper,
folds it in half, and hands it to a student.
- The student must NOT say the word on the paper!
- The student must communicate the definition to the class, and the class tries to
guess the word.
- The student can use body language to try to explain the meaning, and obtain help
from a friend sitting next to him/her if so desired.

96. Coloring paper story game

- Print out a load of coloring pages but will a few lines at the bottom.
- Students must write a story about the picture, put target vocab on the board that
they must use.
- Allow students to read their story and as a reward they can color the picture.

97. Reasons why

- Print out a selection of different coloring pages.
- Tell students to write on paper reasons why they want a coloring page or what
coloring page. Place words on the board to help them.
- Collect all pieces of paper and teacher reads them out and guesses who wrote it.
- Teacher checks and if it’s written correctly, they get a page, anything wrong is given
back for students to try again

98. A-Z words

How to play:

99. Pop-up

25
100. Gaps

101. Five questions

102. Find someone who

103. Two truths & a lie

104. Teacher’s mistake

105. Category Tag:

Choose a category (e.g. food, weather, transportation, etc.). Ss run around the room and the T
chases them. When the T tags a S s/he must name a word from the category (e.g. food: cheese,
fish, bread, etc.). Give a time limit to answer (e.g. 5 seconds). If the S cannot answer or says a
word that has already been used s/he sits out until the next round.

26
106. Everybody stops

107. Whisper

- Divide the class into 2-3 teams lining up in front of the board. Give a marker to the
SS in front of the line of each team.
- T whisper a word to the S in the back of the teams. These SS have to whisper the
word to the next SS in line so that the word can come to the SS in the front.
- When they hear the word, the SS in the front write it on the board as fast as
possible. The 1st S to write down the word on the board wins 1 point for his/ her
team.
- Tell the SS to switch their position and repeat the game.

27
MUSIC GAME BANK
108. Number Group Game:
Play some music and have your Ss walk/skip around the classroom. Stop the music suddenly
and call out a number (up to the number of Ss in your class). The Ss must quickly get together
in a group of that number. Any Ss who didn't make it sit out until the next round.

109. Rainbow Song:

There are a few things you can do with this song. Variation 1. Lay out colored paper in front of
your students in the order in the song, and get them to touch each color as the song is
played. Variation 2. Lay out colored paper in a random order and get the Ss to arrange them
in the order of the song. Variation 3. Have the Ss lay out their coloring pencils in the order of
the song. "Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue. I can sing a
rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too".

Link song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqhInQRrc08

110. Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes:

Have the Ss do all the actions to the song on the tape (touching the parts of their body along
with the song). After that have a speed round at a fairly quick pace. Have a final round at high
speed. All kids love to do it fast.

Link song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4eueDYPTIg

111. Alphabet Wave:

Divide the a-z flashcards among all your students. Put Ss in a line and play the ABC song. As it
plays each student must hold up their corresponding alphabet flashcard.

112. Fingers family

Used to teach SS family vocab.

Link song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xqqj9o7TgA&t=5s

Note: T can find other songs about the topics in the class.

28
UPPER CLASS GAME BANK
113. Battle ships
- Divide the class into 2-3 teams. Tell each team to make a map - a table of 5x5 and
label the column A, B, C, D, E and label the row 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- Each team has 4 ships, they then locate their ships on the map, eg, A4, B3, D2, E1.
- Each team will have to answer a questions when it’s their turn. If they answer it
correctly they can shoot the other two teams’ ships by calling from A1-F6. If the
team hit the ship, then the other teams say “GET”, if they miss, the other teams say
“MISS” and “close” or “far” as hint.
- If ships are hit, they are destroyed. In the end, the team with most ships left and the
team can destroy most ships win the game.

For example: This is my map.

A B C D E
1 X
2 X
3 X
4 X
5

If the enemy call “A4” then they “GET” my ship and I lose it. If the enemy call “B2”, they “MISS”
my ship but “close” for C5, they “MISS” my ship and “far”.

114. Jeopardy
- Divide students into four or five teams.
- Teams take turns choosing a topic category and a question in that category
associated with a specific dollar amount ($100, $200, $300, etc.), e.g., 'We want
Celebrations for $300.'
- Give teams one minute to answer each selected question correctly. Teammates
must collaborate before giving the answer.
- If the answer is correct, the team earns the amount of 'money' the question was
worth. That is, they earn 100 points for a $100 question. You and/or the teams can
tally their point totals.
- If the answer is incorrect, the question stays up on the board.
- After the answer is given, whether correct or incorrect, it is the next team's turn.
Taking turns allows each team more opportunity to participate throughout the
game.
- The game continues until all amounts under each category have been chosen and
questions have been correctly answered.
- The team with the most points wins!

Variations
29
- You could have one student from each team always give the answer.
- You could alternate who gives the answer every time from the team.
- If a question is incorrect, the next (or any other) team could 'steal' the question
right away, or you could just put it back on the board, and the next team could
choose any question they like.
- If you allow a team to 'steal' a question, that team could get double the amount for a
correct answer.
- For variety, after a random question is chosen, you could write Daily Double on the
question. That means the team gets double the amount it was worth ($500 =
$1,000) if the answer is correct.
- You could have a scorekeeper for the game.
- Creating a Jeopardy Board
- There are a few ways that you can create the Jeopardy game to use in your
classroom, but the following details apply to all Jeopardy boards:
- Create five different categories of questions.
- Create five levels of questions in each category. The higher the level/amount, the
harder the question should be.
Example:

Category 1 Category 2 Category 3 Category 4 Category 5

$100 $100 $100 $100 $100

$200 $200 $200 $200 $200

$300 $300 $300 $300 $300

$400 $400 $400 $400 $400

$500 $500 $500 $500 $500

115. Typhoon
- Divide the class into 3-4 teams or more.
- Make a grid of 5x5 and label the grid from 1 to 25 on the board.
- T choose randomly 1 number to be “Typhoon”, 4 numbers to be “Bomb”, 4 numbers
to be “Heart”, 4 numbers to be “Net” and make a set of questions for the rest
number (1 question/ number).
- The SS choose a number when it’s their turn. And
Lose all their point if they get “Typhoon” number.
Get 5 points if they get “Heart” number.
Lose 5 points if they get “Bomb” number.
Answer a question and get 2 points for each correct answer if they get “question”
number.

TO TEACHERS
Tips on discipline and classroom management
Stars and crosses
- One of the best ways to manage a classroom. Divide students
up into two or three teams if it’s a big class.
- If it’s a small class, put student’s names on the board.
- Students that participate or answer correctly earn stars for their team. Bad
students get either crosses for their team or stars removed.
- Once a student gets 3 crosses, ask teaching assistant to take
him outside to talk to him and explain why he is misbehaving.
- Students or team that achieve a certain number of stars should be rewarded;
coloring pages, candy, favorite dance song as a cooler.

Student name
Pony ***
Elsa **
Jaki x

Stand up
- Make a kid misbehaving stand up, ask teaching assistant to explain
to student why they are having to stand-up. Aftera few minutes tell student to sit
down again.
- Naming the student
- You will always remember a bad kids name, shout out his/her name when they
misbehave. This will make them feel embarrassed about their bad behavior.
- Stare at the kid with a neutral face to reinforce the effect.

The countdown
- Kids will get back into their sit quickly once you start count down from 5 to 1.
- Some bad kids will want to see what happens when you get to 1 so ask your
teaching assistant to take him outside or remove points from his team.
- Write something down.
- Either pretend to write something down or get the bad student to
sign a piece of paper that you say will be going totheir parents.

Personal talking

- Ask the bad student to come to the front, talk to them and tell them calmly that they
need to behave because you want to give them reward for being good.
Take it away

31
- Take away any objects a distracted kid is playing with and place it on your table.
You could also encourage a little peer-pressure among the other students if the
next misbehaves next time by stopping the game and opening the work books.

Things you should always bring to the classroom

- Blank paper- kids might forget their books.
- Pens or pencils- kids might forget their pencils/pens.
- Candy- When the students are being unresponsive, show them what
they can get as a reward if they participate or iftheir team wins.
- Water- you will be dehydrated quickly after about 30 mins of dancing and talking.
- Sticky ball- useful for playing games on the board.
- Coloring paper- reward kids at the end of the lesson with paper to color. Zombie
Pikachu is very popular.
- Enthusiasm- If you aren’t fun to be around, kids won’t want to interact.
- Stickers- kids just love them.
