1 PURPOSE
2 SCOPE
This method statement is applicable for the Installation of FAÇADE LIGHT FITTING
with Accessories to ensure that the work is installed and conforms to the
requirements of contract documents and project specifications.

5.1.1. The Alfaneyah Project Manager will have full authority and overall responsibility to
manage & supervise. He will Control the works and will have direct responsibility
for ensuring safe working practices and compliance with regulatory authorities’
requirements. Coordinate with the engineers for the Main Contract Scope of work.
Implement the project quality systems to be the satisfaction of the project
requirements. Review changes and variations to evaluate the impact of those on time
and schedule.
5.1.2. Responsible for the establishment and effective implementation of the Project
Quality system.
5.1.3. Overall project strategy, direction, and performance.
5.1.4. Overall coordination and liaison with the Employer and his representatives.
5.1.5. Delegation of Authority, but not overall responsibility for the Project Quality
System to the Project Functional Managers, as appropriate to their functions.

5.2 Project Engineer
Project Title:
5.2.1. The Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all works are carried out as per
the specifications, approved shop drawings and Method Statement as per the
manufacturer instructions and coordinated with other works.
5.2.2. Preparation and implementation of project procedures related to Engineering
activities.
5.2.3. Ensuring compliance with Employer's requirements relating to design life, duty,
performance, safety, maintenance, and servicing.
5.2.4. Preparing and verifying, by checking, interdisciplinary reviews and/ or technical
reviews, as appropriate so all issues of design deliverables.
5.2.5. Carrying out technical bid evaluations including clarification meetings with bidders,
as appropriate, and making recommendations based on technical acceptability of
bids.
5.3 QA/QC Engineer
5.3.1. QA/QC is responsible for specifying the procedures and resources that will be
needed to carry out a project, perform a process, realize a product, or manage a
contract. Quality plans also specify who will do what and when. (ISO 9001:2015 &
45001:2018)
5.3.2. QA/QC is responsible for monitoring the works are in fulfillment with the specified
requirements that all quality records related to the works are complete.
5.3.3. QA/QC will carry out all the inspections with the site representatives/supervisor and
notice will be given to representatives/supervisor within 2days and ensure that no
work will be carried out without inspection/testing.
5.4 Site Supervisors and Site Foremen
5.4.1. The project team of experienced Supervisors and Foremen shall ensure the quality of
the installation work carried out and shall also ensure that it is as per the latest
approved construction shop drawing issued for installation and according to
instructions received from the Site Engineer.
5.4.2. He will provide his subordinates (charge hand) adequate information to carry out
their duties.
5.4.3. To ensure that he has adequate resources of machinery, labor, and materials to carry
out all the activities efficiently and to discuss with the Site Engineer.
5.4.4. To ensure a safe and clean working environment to enforce a safe working habit.
Project Title:
The Safety Engineer/Officer is responsible for implementing the risk assessment and
he will ensure that all control measures and necessary health/safety precautions are
effectively completed prior to starting the activity. He is responsible for carrying out
training, monitoring the work activities, carrying out inspections and reporting to the
principal contractor safety department and carrying out accident and incident
investigations.
Starting instructions will be given by the supervisors at the start of each activity to
explain the methodology of work and to communicate safe working procedures to
the operatives. These talks are structured in a way to highlight major risks involved
in the activity and the various control measures required to minimize the risk. It is
delivered in a manner such as the key points will be remembered by the operatives
receiving it.
6 WORK METHODOLGY
Before the commencement of Façade Light fitting and connections, the following
activities are required to be carried out by the responsible representative of the
project Engineer.
6. 1.1 Ensure all necessary certification and essential documents are available prior to
installation of any equipment/devices.
6. 1.2 Verify the current revisions of approved shop drawings are readily available for
installation.
6. 1.3 Check the materials used for installation have an approved material submittal.
6. 1.4 Check the type and size of wires and cables and their accessories as per approved
material submittal and specifications.
6. 1.5 Ensure temporary protection provided to protect openings and any damage during transit
are removed and units are free from damage and clean internally and externally.
6. 1.6 All ballast for LED fixtures, fluorescent tube, compact fluorescent, metal halide of
150W
6. 1.7 Each lamp shall be provided with separate ballast.
6. 1.8 Check the area of installation is clean, tidy, and safe.
6.4.1 All accessories shall be properly aligned with vertical edges plumb and horizontal edges
level and mounted at the specified height as per specification.
6.4.1 Installation of Faced light will be installed in accordance with BS7671.
6.4.1 All back boxes will be installed of the required dimensions, so termination of cable can be
made easy.
6.4.1 All boxes and accessories shall be checked prior to installation and fixed securely with the
designated fixings at the required heights and levels as specified in shop drawings and
specification. (Section 265100 – Lighting Fixtures)
6.4.1 Containment for the lighting circuits will be sized accordingly, considering the spacing
factor required.

6.4.1 Ring circuit will be wired from distribution board to the first point and from
distribution board to the last point by continuous loop as shown in approved
drawing; it is required for 4 twin outlet, breaker capacity and size as per approved
single line diagram, load schedule and MAS.
6.4.1 To be Ensure that the wire’s insert in each conduit will not more than 3 no’s for each
phase.
6.4.1 All circuits will be identified and clearly labeled at the distribution boards and also
at the outlet side for circuit identification.
6.4.1 Check the alignment, level, tightness of loose items supplied with it (if any e.g.
measuring devices or instruments if any)
6.4.1 All terminations into accessories will be properly inserted into terminals and no
conductors projected showing outside the terminals.
6.4.1 Carry out the insulation resistance (IR test) between phase to earth, phase to neutral
and phase to phase by using a 1000V / 500V Fluke Megger tester. Prior to Facade
light connection
6.4.1 Test the Insulation Resistance of incoming and outgoing cables and make the record
of the installation resistance.
6.4.1 Earthing will be carried out in accordance with BS7671 and contract specifications

The DALI switch module is connected directly to the DALI control line and does not
need a separate power supply. It is powered via the DALI circuit. It can be connected
to the DALI circuit with either polarity. To control either a single momentary switch
or multiple momentary switches can be used.

Note: All activities will be executed in accordance with OCC WEAVERS safety guidelines and
Alfaneyah safety plan.
