Dear Students,

Welcome to MIS sessions! I hope you are experiencing, learning and enjoying the
sessions. The primary objective of the sessions is to make you understand the
importance of information, its application and information management in
Organizations. Four categories of assignments are designed for better understanding of
the subject. The objective and description of each assignment is given below. Every
assignment is different except for the Book Assignment, which is common for all the
students.

You can refer the required instructions and guidelines for the preparation reports and
presentations. You are informed to follow instructions without fail. I wish you all the
best.

01. Written Assignments

This is an individual assignment. Each student has to keep a long note book for
assignments given by institute. Students are asked to answer the questions by referring
to books prescribed by the university. Objective of this assignment is to make you ready
for university final examinations.
02. Internet Assignments
This is a group assignment. Workgroup consists of three students. Student grouping is
done on the basis of students Roll. No. Each workgroup has to give the presentation and
also submit the report. The report should not be more than 10 pages. Workgroups are

suggested to make use of both side of paper. Objective of this assignment is to make the
students to understand the digital economy.
03. Field Assignments
Assignments can be carried out in a group. Each workgroup consists of three members.
Grouping is done on the basis of students Roll. No. Each workgroup has to give the
presentation and also submit the report. The report should not be more than 12 pages.
Workgroups are suggested to make use of both side of paper. Objective of this
assignment is to make you learn about the real time applications of Information
Technology and Information systems.
IT-Bazaar
Each workgroup consists of three members. Workgroup has to give the presentation
about the features of new Product / Device and also submit the report. The report
should not be more than 10 pages. Workgroups are suggested to collect product
literature. Objective of this assignment is to keep you updated about latest
developments in the area of Information Technology.

• Abstract: A summary of the main thrust of the report in about 100-150 words.
• Key words: Specific words that recur in the report and that one should be familiar with to follow
its argument.
• Title of Topic: The title should be in 14 points Bold all CAPS.
• Typeface for Text: Use a typeface of Times New Roman 12 points.
• Please ensure that all variables (in mathematical expressions) are in italics and NOT bolded.
• Spacing: Double-space text on all pages throughout the manuscript, including the Cover page.
• Margins: Use uniform margins of 1 in. from the top, bottom, and sides of every page. The report
should be prepared on standard 8.5”x11” paper (or A4 size).
• Introduction & Subheadings: The Introduction should be in Title case 12 points Bold and have no
number. Subsequent headings should also be in Title case 12 points Bold.
• Indentation: Use the tab key to indent the first lines of paragraphs and all lines of block Quotes.
• Page numbers: Put page numbers on the bottom right corner at least 1 in. from the right edge of
the page.
• References: The references may be given on a separate page double spaced and in 10 points
Times New Roman.
• Report in poor form will automatically be rejected. Some examples of poor form are:
overwriting, too small or large margins, too small or large font size, different font type, etc.
• Please check your paper for clarity, grammar, spellings, punctuations and consistency of
references to minimize editorial changes.
• There is a limit of minimum Five pages per report.

• An electronic version in PDF should be sent via e-mail . One set hard copy is also required. No
report can be accepted without an electronic copy in PDF.
