UPSILON Quick Guide

UPSILON 2000 installation and configuration QUICK GUIDE

This quick guide is standard for Windows OS. UPSILON 2000 software supports the following OS:

UPSILON 2000 V4.1 UPSILON 2000 V5.0

Windows 98 Win XP (32 & 64 bits)


Windows NT Win Vista (32 & 64 bits)
Windows 2000 Win 7 (32 & 64 bits)
Windows Me Win 8 (32 & 64 bits)
Windows 2003 Windows Server 2000 (32 bits)
Win XP (32 & 64 bits) Windows Server 2003 (32 bits)
Win Vista (32 & 64 bits) Windows Server 2008 (32 & 64 bits)
Novell NetWare, Linux, FreeBSD Windows Server 2008 R2 (32 &64 bits)

INSTALLATION
- Insert CD-ROM attached with UPS.
- The following window will be shown automatically. Select “Install Program” option.

- The Installation Wizard will give you some OS options. Select the correct one.
- In the first window of the installation, click “Next” for continuing the installation.
- In the second one, click “Yes” for accepting License Agreement.
- In the third one, you have to enter your name, the name of the company and the product serial number. The last field
is on CD-ROM cover, as it is shown in the following picture. Put away strictly this serial number for future
installations, because it is necessary.

- Click “Next” and check the following information. If all is correct, click “Yes” for continuing the installation.
- In “Choose Destination Location” window, choose the destination folder and click “Next”.
- In “Select Program Folder” window, choose the program folder and click “Next”.
- The installation starts automatically. If the installation is completed successfully, the last window will be shown
where you can select if you want to view the Readme file and to register the product. Afterwards, click “Finish”.

CONFIGURATION
- Connect the attached wire between computer and UPS (RS-232 or USB wire).
- Open UPSILON 2000 software. The appearance of V5.0 is the following:

- Click “Settings” button on the left, and configure “general settings”. If the communication is through RS-232
connection, set “MegaTec” in “communication Type” and the appropriate port in “Select Comm Port”. If the
communication is through USB connection, set “Mega(USB)” in “Communication Type”.

- Click “OK”, and if all is correct, there will be communication between computer and UPS, and the communication
field will be in green:

- Now you can set shutdown settings clicking “Settings” button and “Shutdown” tap for turning off the OS and/or
UPS before mains failures, among other actions. The standard settings are the following:
