EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
AIN’S Go Clean is a business that offers a cleaning service that have been started on 1
October 2021. The main services offered is for house or apartment. As we all know having a clean
and tidy house is everyone’s dreams as it can create a fresh and calm environment. It is advisable
for a house to be clean every day to keep its hygienic. However, not everyone has time to clean
their house because most of them are busy with their working task. So, that is why I came out with
an idea to open a cleaning service business named as AIN’S Go Clean. My goal is to helps
everyone to have a clean, tidy and save living environment.
The price range for my cleaning service is only from RM 25 per hour which is
cheaper than the cleaning service offered by the other entrepreneur. This is because I do not incur
many costs in order for me to start a business. Most of my equipment used to operate the business
was lent by my aunt. I only incur cost to buy detergent, glove, mask and Clorox. I only used trusted
brand name product for my cleaning service such as Dettol and Febreze in order to gain customer
trust. I do not have any office as because I use online platform to attract and interact with my
customer. My cleaning service is only offer to a fully vaccinated and free from Covid-19
households for my safety purposes. The area cover for my service is only in the Johor Bahru city.
I also charged my travelling cost from RM 5 to RM 10 depending on how far is the customer place
from my house.
I have been doing this business since 1 October 2021 until now because I love doing
business and its also as my preparation for the business opportunity assignment for the subject
ENT 300. For the past two and half months, I have managed to clean 19 houses that require me to
spend for about 67 hours in total. I am grateful that I managed to find a customer although at first
some of them think that I do not have the capability to give them a tiptop cleaning services, but I
managed to prove it. Many new experiences and knowledge I gain by doing this business which
really benefit me.

PROJECT DESCRIPTIONS
A business opportunity is the sale or lease of any product, service, equipment, or other item
that allows the buyer-licensee to start a business whether it’s through online or offline 1. The
business that I do is a cleaning service business and it was named as AIN’S Go Clean. I offer
several cleaning services that include: basic housekeeping, where kitchen, lounge, bathroom &
bedroom are included. Basic cleaning service like vacuuming, dusting, polishing and sweeping are
among the duties that I offered.
I am also offering services including cleaning walls and ceiling to remove dirt, dust and
grease for safety and health reason. The equipment used include: squeegees and scouring pads,
yellow microfiber cloths or dusters, cloths for polishing glass surfaces, brush cleaning, a mop and
a bucket, a broom and dustpan, vacuum cleaner, gloves for protection, and a plastic caddy. The
product that I used to clean the house is high quality from trusted brand such as Dettol, Mr. Muscle,
Harpic, Febreze and Cif. Due to the pandemic of Covid – 19, my service is only offered to a house
owner that have been fully vaccinated and free from Covid-19 for the purpose of my safety.
The reason I choose to do a cleaning service business is because I love to clean things and
I want to help everyone to not just have a clean and tidy house but a save environment too. As we
all know, illnesses can be due to the dirt and dust. For me nothing is more crucial than the health
of ourselves and our love ones. It is true, that we cannot protect and prevent ourselves from every
disease that exists, but we can take some precautions to lower the chances of being ill by
maintaining a clean and a healthy living environment. This is because if the house is not clean,
that means the house is not sterilized which raises the danger of illness or disease for all members

of the household. That is why this became one of the reasons I want to do a cleaning service
business. Furthermore, due to Covid-19 cleaning services is very demanding because many people
want to keep their house clean and safe from any viruses and bacteria. There is also a lot of room
for expansion in cleaning enterprises, which makes them profitable. Residential, commercial, and
rental properties can all be cleaned, as well as real estate agents. As many individuals are looking
for cleaning services, this creates demands and present a great opportunity for me to start a
business. Therefore, I seek that opportunity by doing a cleaning service business, AIN’S Go Clean.
For the mode of operation of the cleaning services, I opted for onine basis. I have put up
my platform on Instagram, @AIN’SGOCLEAN where people can direct message me and book
for the cleaning services. The online operations are relatively cheaper as I will incur no overhead
costs due to the fact that I can work from home and studying at the same time while waiting for a
customer to give a call and book their slot. Furthermore, it is easier for my clients to reach as they
don’t have to skip their busy schedules to visit my premises. As we all know due to Covid-19 many
people prefer contactless services. By the use of their phones or any gadgets, they can easily book
for the cleaning services they want.
My cleaning service business began in 1 October 2021 due to I am aware that I need to a
business opportunity project for ENT 300 subject and it’s also because of I love to clean things. I
offer my service during the day from 8 am until 6 pm and in all days of the week depends on the
demand and my schedule as a student except for public holiday. I do not offer my cleaning service
during night for my safety purposes. I am going to continue doing this business until the end of
December 2021 because I need to do my preparation for my final examination that will be held on
February 2022.
My services go for RM 25 per hour. I charge at this rate because I want to make sure that
everyone from all classes of income has the same opportunity to use my services. I also charge for
my travelling cost from RM 5 to RM 10 depending on how far does the customer house is. I also
offer additional services, like deep rug as well as upholstery cleaning per clients’ request. My main

goal for this business is I want my clients to get what they want and they feel satisfy with the
services that I offer. Before any slot is book, I will discuss with the clients first any and if they
agree, then will we proceed. This is to prevent any misunderstanding from happened.
My target customers are married couples with children. As we all know at some point
during their children's childhood or adolescence, parents are likely to become extremely busy. It's
not uncommon for them to wash laundry while also bathing the kids or cleaning the house while
dinner is cooking. They'll also go errands and pick up housework while the kids are away at soccer
practice or school. Such people benefit from my services because they can work, spending time
with their children, or simply escape the psychological and emotional stress of attempting to do it
all.
Another set of my target customers is couples who have no children. Without children,
married couples are more likely to be occupied with education or employment. To begin their own
enterprise or to travel for work, they may be doing so busy and does not have time to clean their
house. This is because cleaning can be time consuming or frustrating, depending on who is doing
the cleaning and how much time they have available. Other than that, my cleaning services are
also targeting newlyweds and long-term couples alike since they may save time and money while
also relieving some of the pressures of home maintenance. I am also trying to reach people who
are too busy with their work or who prefer to do other things as we all know many economic
sectors is open now, many people need to come to their office for work so they do not have enough
time to clean their house because when they comeback from work, I am surely that they will feel
tired.
I use various promotion tool to reach my customers. Promoting on social media are a fun
and easy way to connect with customers and attract new friends and followers. By doing a contest
such as singing contest on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook (Meta) are a terrific approach to
overcome the platform's lack of organic reach, as they allow me to attract several customers each
campaign. Since I am are concerned about positioning, the winners of the Instagram giveaways

obtain access to my services for free or at a discounted charge. My social networks are routinely
updated with information about the services I provide.
In addition, I record video of myself cleaning customer house from before and after and
share it on the various social media channels so that all my potential customers are aware with my
capabilities in cleaning houses. As a result of the increased social media involvement,
my services attract more customers. I also rely on my clients to make referrals of their family and
friends. After I offer my services to customers, I will request them to rate me and introduce me to
their friends who might be in need of my services. By doing this, I am able to get new customers.
I also post the customers reviews on I social media platforms so that people can verify the
quality of the services we offer and make booking if they are interested. For me asking feedback
from the previous customer is very vital as it makes me aware of what I need to improve on so that
I offer the best to my customers. Other than that, since I am living in a flat and around my house
is surrounded by residential areas, I took the opportunity to put up my business poster in each
block. So that when the customer interested in my service, they can call me through the number
phone that I have put in the poster.

PROJECT OUTCOMES
From October to December 15, 2021, I manage to give my service to about 19 houses.
Most of them have become my regular customer. In total I have spent about 67 hours in cleaning
customer’s house. Usually, I only took two to four hours to clean per house but it depends on the
size of the house too. My total sales for these two and a half months are about RM 1,675. For every
house, I charged my travelling cost from RM 5 to RM 10 depends on how far their house is. Most
of my customer had use my services for about one to three times as I have just opened my business
during October 2021. The cost that I incurred during my business operation is only amounted to
RM 275. The profit that I get from October to December 15, 2021 are amounted to RM 1,400.

From the business activity that I am doing currently, it widens my knowledge about
business. This is because as an accounting student I learned about business too but never applying
it in real life situation previously. I enjoy my learning and experiencing process in doing my
business. Sincerely at the beginning of my business no one want to use my service as for them I
am not capable enough. But after two months operating, my business is booming from the previous
month based on the number of orders I receive from various clients. This is because many people
realize by having a clean and tidy house it can prevent their house from any bacteria and viruses.
Currently I am doing my business alone due to I think that I can handle it by myself, sometimes
my mother did offer me some helps in doing my business too. Most of the equipment I use to
operate my business was lent by my aunt for free because previously she does the cleaning business
too but because of she’s pregnant she stops her business.
I am a hardworking and business-oriented person. As a student I have a lot of
responsibilities such as I need to do my projects, assignments and assessments. Therefore, in order
to cater all my task, I planned a very pragmatic schedule. My class schedules are well planned;
hence I use my free time to study and run my cleaning service business. My timetable is strict and
well prepared. I always make sure I attend my online classes, submit assignments on time,
complete projects, and review lessons. The process enables me to plan my class and work activities
precisely. Despite of I am busy with my studies and business, I am still helping my mother doing
house chores from household activities such as cleaning the floor, making her bed, washing dishes,
and others.
Previously from the past two weeks, I receive almost weekly orders from houses to slash
and sweep around the house, scrub floors and loos. Sometimes I have to reject the orders as I am
doing my business alone, so if the customer request to clean their office I will not accept it because
I do not have any workers. In addition, I am also having to reject customer who request me to clean
their house during nights as it is very dangerous for me as a female. Before going to any customer
place, I will make sure that the customer is fully vaccinated and I am also will preparing myself

with proper attire, hand gloves, gumboots, and masks to ensure that I am well protected when
executing my duties. I am also will not accept any customer outside my coverage area which is
Johor Bahru.
My business is flexible because I can also do laundry for clients with busy work schedules.
I separate clothes by their colors when washing to ensure the fading ones don't affect others. I also
get orders to help clean the kitchen areas because the kitchen is a high-traffic area in homes. I clean
kitchen appliances and the floor I clean the kitchen very carefully, because the kitchen is where
we prepare food, so making sure the kitchen is clean and hygienic is very important. I clean dusty
furniture, vacuum carpets, and rugs. There is also high traffic in washrooms that increase the spread
of Covid-19 through touching infected taps and door handle. I also wash walls, shower areas, and
bathroom sinks using disinfectant and other cleaning materials in order to keep my customer house
from any viruses.
Running my business has been an exciting and challenging task. Sometimes I come across
demanding and arrogant clients but I still never give up because from them I get new experience.
There is one customer who does not want to pay at first even after repeating the task leading to a
lot of disappointment because I expect to receive payments on time and use it in order to rolling
my money to buy the equipment for the business. But after proper discussion, I manage to ask the
client to pay for the service that I have offered. In doing my services, I maintain high cleaning
standards, which has enabled me to receive many clients from my community.
I have handled my customers effectively because I express respect, integrity, and quality
communication skills when discussing business with my clients to avoid any misunderstanding. I
greet them before engaging in further discussion to ensure they are in the right mood for a business
transaction. I do meet demanding but willing clients to give me a task. It always gives me a good
chance to convince them by explaining what I am offer and after-sales services such as cleaning
trash cans and dumping trash in the dumping site. I also provide a discount to retain my potential

clients and the new ones. Such business transactions always provide me with a happy moment to
share the trending issues in society and develop good friendships.
My business has provided me with opportunities to learn and improve my communication
skills. For example, I have learned to listen attentively to my client's requests. I always prioritize
my clients to make them feel important and appreciated. I welcome feedback from my clients as
it helps me improve my cleaning services. I carefully handle clients' complaints by either repeating
cleaning services or refunding money. It is also essential to express a good sense of humor by
making reasonable jokes to show my attention to clients and engage them effectively.
I have learned that doing a cleaning service business requires few legal formalities. It
involves purchasing some detergents, vacuum cleaners, containers, gloves, mops and many more.
Most of the equipment I bought through Shopee’s or Lazada’s apps, because it offers more
affordable and cheaper price for me to start a business.
All in all, by doing this business it’s really open my eyes through the perspective of the
owner of the business. This is because previously, I have thought that it is easy to do a business
because I am the owner but it’s actually not. I have to do a lot of things by myself, I need to
convince the customer in order to use my services, I need to rolling my money in order to buy the
equipment for my business and many more. It really tests my ability in order to do this project but
I really did enjoy every second I am doing this business.

CONCLUSIONS
To conclude from doing this project, I am glad that I have got to learn many new knowledge
and skills. In running this business, it really changed the way I have thought about business. I
have learned that it is not easy to do a business. Ones who really committed and serious only can
stand the challenges in doing the business. Some of the lessons that I have learned in order to have
a successful business, I must have knowledge. Without the knowledge my business will not
succeed.
The other lessons that I have got is nothing can beat hard work. Even though if the person
has a bigger capital and knowledge without the hard work no operation can be done. For an
example, if I am lazy and does not have effort in doing my cleaning business, I will never get to
attract customer to use my services. Third lessons that I have got is I need to be confident enough
to accept my fault. In this world nobody is perfect, same goes to an entrepreneur. Sometimes they
did a mistake too. From the mistake, I have learned to overcome it and give a better service.
Making a right decision is also a crucial factor in order for me to keep my business on going. As
an example, if I need to make a decision whether to purchase a second-hand vacuum cleaner for
my business or purchase a new one. I need to consider pros and cons between the two option first
before making any decision.
I really thought that my business, AIN’S Go Clean really have bigger opportunity to be
expand in the future. But before that, I need to improve few aspects in my cleaning service business
such as I need to hire employees so that I can accept many customers. Other than that, I would
need to aggressively promote my cleaning service business throughout all medium to convince
many new potential customers to use my services. With a proper planning and full effort, I believe
that I can gain more sales and expanding my business.
