Table of Contents
A table of contents is a list of the chapters or parts of a book or any other written work in
order (Déjean & Meunier, 2009). Usually, it has the names of chapters and the names of sections,
and sometimes mostly include the page numbers of subsections. The main purpose of a table of
contents is to make it easy for readers to figure out what they want within the paper. The table of
contents makes it easier and faster for them to find the information they need.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is when one uses someone else's work, ideas, or words without giving them
credit. Plagiarism can happen when one copies and pastes from a source without giving credit,
when one paraphrases another person’s work without giving credit or when oneparaphrases an-
other person’s work without giving credit, or uses someone else's ideas as their own (Awasthi,
2019). Plagiarism is a serious crime in both the workplace and the classroom. It can lead to court
action, a loss of reputation, or academic penalties. To avoid copying, all sources used in a written
work must be correctly mentioned, and credit must be made where credit is due.
Citation means giving credit to the original sources of information employed in a piece of
writing, such as a research paper or essay, and giving a reference toreferencing those sources.
Depending on the style of citation, a reference usually includes the name of the author, the title
of the workcitation style, a reference usually includes the author's name, the work's title, the date
it was published, and any other important information (Vivek & Leblanc, 2018). On the other
hand, a bibliography is a list of all the books, websites, papers, journals, and other sources that
were used in a piece ofused in a writing. It is generally at the end of the paper and listed in order

by the author's last name. A bibliography gives more information about the sources that are re-
ferred to in the work, such as who published them (Vivek & Leblanc, 2018).
Proofing a Document
Proofing or proofreading is examining and editing a written work to fix any grammatical,
written work is precise, logical, and easily understood by the intended audience. This process
might need several passes to check for various types of errors, and it can be performed manually
or with automated tools. Generally, proofreading is an important phase in the writing process that

comprehend its objective, message, and intended audience (Dr. Cathy, n.d.). Analyzing a docu-
ment may involve establishing key themes, concepts, and arguments and assessing its success in
meeting its objectives. Other aspects to examine in document analysis include the author's point
of view, the historical or cultural context in which the document was created, and the document's
intended impact or use. Document analysis is crucial for understanding the relevance and mean-
ing of a document, and it is often utilized in literary criticism, academic research, and other types
of textual analysis.

Tracking Changes
To "track changes" in a document is to record and show all the alterations made to the
original text, such as new words, deleted words, and new formatting (Birnholtz & Ibara, 2012).
This is a typical tool for teams working together to write or edit a document since it allows ev-
eryone involved to see who made what changes and when they were made. With the tracking

changes feature activated, any edits made to a document are highlighted in a different color,
making it simple for the author to spot and review any modifications. The document's change
history may be audited by tracking who made which changes and when they were made. When

Headers and footers are document sections at the top and bottom of each page. They of-
ten convey extra information, like page numbers, document titles, author names, dates, and other
pertinent information. Headers and footers may be personalized with various sizes, fonts, colors,
formatting styles, and photos or graphics. They are often utilized to provide context and organi-
zation to academic papers, corporate reports, and other publications and to guarantee that each
page is correctly identified and recognized. Headers and footers are valuable features for improv-
ing a document's layout and utility, as well as its general readability and professionalism (Writ-
tenhouse, 2022).
