about their surroundings through teacher guided and

Quarter: IV Week: 3 day: 3

OBJECTIVE: At the end of 50 minutes period, 100% of learners are


expected to:
1.relate the importance of land forms to animals .

LEARNING TASK
1. ELICIT Materials
Ask:
Do you have pet at home? How do you take care with them?
What do you think are the needs of animals in order to
survive?

2. ENGAGE Pictures
1.Review

What some importance of landforms to plants? How


does landforms affect to the life of plants?

2.Motivation
PICTURE OF
(Strategy: Find someone who knows)
LANDFORMS
Show pictures, encourage learners to think and realize the
importance of different landforms to different animals.

Procedures:
1. Group the learners into two groups.
2. Distribute question sheet and encourage the group
leaders to read the problem silently and she/he may
start writing his/her answer.
3. Each member will be given 10 seconds to answer and
pass to the next member.
4. If the time is up the group leaders will read all the
answers.
PICTURE OF ANIMALS
5. Group’s output will be checked by the teacher and
given points for the correct answers.

Problem:
Give the importance of landforms to animals in
one
word. Example- food.

3. EXPLORE

( Strategy: Color my world )

Procedure:
1. The learners will do the activity either individual, pair
and small groups and they will perform the task stated
in the activity sheet with the teachers’ guidance.
2. Depending on the concept/ topic, the learners will
choose any color of the strips that they wish and think Please refer to appendix no. 1
of the correct ideas being asked/ stated. for Activity sheet.
3. If the individual learners got it correctly, then he/she
will post it on the big world posted on the board.
4. Learners will be required to write some important
ideas on their presentation on the colored bond paper.
4.EXPLAIN

Have the group representative present the results of activity.


Every group has 3 minutes to do .
The group will be evaluated according to the correct answers
they have.

The teacher discuss:


Animals live in different places in landforms.
Some animals drink fresh water from river and stream that
flows toward plain, valleys , mountain and hills side. Plant
eater animals like cows, horse, birds and some insects get
their foods from grassland, forest and farmland.
Wild animals like boar, monkeys, snakes and tarsiers
would like to stay in cool climate of forest mountain.
Animals choose their place in different landform where they
can reproduce their own kinds, grow and survive.

5.ELABORATE
1. Generalization:
How important of landforms to animals? What is the great
significance of land form to all kinds of animals? What would
be a possible outcomes if without any landform to different
kinds of animals?

2.Application Whistle
Flashcards with questions.
(Travelling Whistle strategy)
Procedures:
1. Group the learners into desired number of groups.
2. All group members hold a whistle.
3. Teacher flashes a flashcards with question. The group
member who can blow the whistle first has the chance
to give the answer. If the given answer is wrong, the
other groups can answer.
4. If the groups got the correct answer, 1 point will be
given to them for every correct answer. This will
continue until all questions will be answered.
5. The group which has the highest points will be declared
WINNER.

exposure of sunlight. Do you think this kind

What to do:
1. Give some importance of mountain in 3
words or more.
2 Write these words to desired strip of
papers.
Use 1 strip for each word.
3 Post your strips to a big world found in
the
chart.
4. Discuss to your member how these words
give importance to animals and decide your
final answer.
5. Assign a reporter to present your answer into
the whole class.
