Difficulty: Medium
Instructions
This logical reasoning test comprises 12 questions, each containing a grid of symbols. In
each question one of the symbols is missing. Your task is to choose which one of the options
best fits the missing symbol.
Each question will have 12 possible answers, one of which is correct. You will have to work
quickly and accurately to perform well in this test. There is no overall time limit for the test, but
there is a limit of 70 seconds for each question.
Try to find a time and place where you will not be interrupted during the test. The test will start

Q1 What replaces the question mark?
Rule 1: From top to bottom, the cross moves one place counterclockwise each time. This pattern
continues onto the next column.
Rule 2: From left to right, the circle moves one place clockwise each time. This pattern continues
onto the next row.
Rule 1: From top to bottom, the smaller square moves one place counterclockwise each time. This
pattern continues onto the next column.
Rule 2: From left to right, the total number of shaded squares increases by one each time. This
pattern begins again on the next row.
Rule 1: From top to bottom, each symbol moves one place to the right each time. This pattern
continues onto the next column.
Rule 2: From left to right, the underscore moves one place to the right each time. This pattern
continues onto the next row.
Rule 1: From left to right, each shape moves one place clockwise each time. This pattern continues
onto the next row.
Rule 2: From left to right, each shape rotates 45˚ counterclockwise each time. This pattern
continues onto the next row.
Rule 1: From left to right, the arrows alternate from two white, two black and vice-versa, across the
boxes.
Rule 2: From left to right, the arrows of the same colour rotate 90 degrees clockwise from one box to
the next.
Rule 1: From top to bottom, the fan moves clockwise one place, then two places, then three places
and so on. This pattern continues onto the next column.
Rule 2: From left to right, the total number of shaded segments alternates between two and three.
This pattern continues onto the next row.
Rule 1: From left to right, each shaded box moves down one place each time. When the shading
reaches the bottom it starts again at the top position. This pattern continues
onto the next row.
Rule 2: From left to right, each column moves one place to the right each time. This pattern
continues onto the next row.
Rule 1: From top to bottom, the two large shapes move one place counterclockwise each time.
This pattern continues onto the next row.
Rule 2: The total number of small squares in the centre is always equal to the total number of edges
on the large shapes.
Rule 1: From top to bottom, the symbol rotates 45˚ counterclockwise each time. This pattern
continues onto the next column.
Rule 2: From left to right, the shading alternates between the ring and the bar. This pattern
continues onto the next row.
Rule 1: The black square moves in 9-grid method, moving down in a column and moving right every
row, circling back round.
Rule 2: From top to bottom, the central lines on the left side of the shape decrease: 2, 1, then 0.
Rule 1: From top to bottom, the symbol rotates 72˚ clockwise each time. This pattern continues
onto the next column.
Rule 2: From left to right, the centre circle alternates between shaded and unshaded. This pattern
continues onto the next row.
Rule 1: From top to bottom, the total number of squares increases by two each time. This pattern
continues onto the next column.
Rule 2: From left to right, the total number of shaded boxes increases by one each time. This
pattern begins again on the next row.
