17. On an infinitely long running track, sticker stations are placed 1m apart throughout
the track. From the starting point, a runner will run 1m to the first station, collect a
sticker and then run back to the starting point. Then from the starting point, the
runner will run to the second station, collect a second sticker and then run back to
the starting point. The process is repeated for subsequent stations. How many
stickers has a runner collected altogether for running a total distance of 950m?

18. A train moves at a constant speed throughout its journey. It takes 45 seconds for the
train to cross a bridge 820 metres long, and it takes 35 seconds for the train to cross
another bridge 620 metres long. Find the travelling speed of the train in metres per
second.

of a job must be completed before Stage 2 can begin. The processing times of the 5
jobs over the 2 stages are given in the table below.
