Activity 3
TWO-HANDED PROCESS CHART: REMOTE CONTROL ASSEMBLY
ACTIVITY OBJECTIVES:
1. To observe and record the details of the process involving fundamental hand motions.
2. To make a graphical representation of the process using the Left and Right Hand
Chart/Two-Handed Process Chart.
3. To introduce improvements in the process through the application of operations analysis.

ANALYSIS:
1. Why is it important to capture the details of the process for the chart?
It is important to capture the details of the process for the chart as it shows how a
particular action is done and accurate and precise work in manufacturing can be done
which will lessen such work-related trauma.
2. Is the two-handed chart an effective tool in recording the fundamental hand motions used
in the process? Why?
Based on my observation in this lab activity, I would say two-handed chart is an effective
tool in recording the fundamental hand motions for every different processes. We know
that most of the time we make use of our hands most especially in the field of
engineering, two-handed chart helps to improve effectivity and improves the knowledge
of the performer with references of actions by both hands with their respective
timestamps and symbols.
5. What points should you consider on improving the current scenario you have observed?
List the changes you want to introduce in the process to increase work efficiency.
I think the best thing I can consider or at least suggest to improve the current scenario is
to prepare the materials so they can be reached easily. It would also be better to do a little
research on how you should perform if it is your first time to do the task so you will not
have to bring confusion during the whole process.
CONCLUSION:
The laboratory activity involved two parts which consist of the present and the modified process
of assembling a remote control. Two hands were used to create motion and perform the work
along the process to identify factors that possibly may impact the overall progress on the
experiment in which will be improved accordingly on the modified work. It was concluded that
factors like positioning the materials needed to assemble the remote is important, that even if two
hands were moving or creating motion, you will not be confused on what you do because
everything feels like in control. This have made to a conclusion the analysis motions can help
prevent struggles or confusions in the work area.
