I. Objectives:
Learning Competencies:
a. define an experimental and a theoretical probability,
b. differentiate an experimental and a theoretical probability;
c. apply the use of experimental and theoretical probability on real life
situations.
III. Procedure:
Teacher’s Activity Learner’s Activity
Preliminary Activities:
Let us all stand up and pray. Oh Lord, We offer you this moment for
Can someone lead the prayer? your glory and sanctification of our souls
bless our thoughts, our words and our
actions always. Amen.
Good morning class!
How’s your day class? Good morning ma’am.
A. Review
Last time we discussed about
the probability of simple events.
P(event) = # of favorable outcome
Can you still recall how to find the # of all possible outcome
probability of simple events?
Very good!
Will you gave me an example *Probability that it will have a snow here
of probability in real life? in the Philippines.
*Chance of winning or losing in an
competition.
*Certain thing will happen like it will be
8:00 pm later.
Very good!
From 0 or 0% impossible to happen until
What is the probability that a 1 or 100% sure to happen.
certain event will happen?

2. Development of the
Lesson
Let us have a group activity.
In the emoticon you have awhile
back you can see something if you
will open it. Those with the same
emoticons will be grouped

Question: What is the probability of
getting HHH and TTT?

IV. Evaluation
The table shows how many of each different size of a particular style of T-
shirt were sold at one outlet last month. Find the probability that a T-shirt
sold will be each size.
Size Number Sold
1.) Extra Small Extra Small 8
2.) Small Small 12
3.) Medium Medium 20
4.) Large Large 15
Extra Large 5
5.) Extra Large
6.) Probability of getting medium theoretically?
7.) Probability of getting all the sizes theoretically?
8.) Probability of getting double extra-large theoretically?
9.) Probability of getting “small” in its name theoretically?

V. Assignment
Situation:
The barangay officials of San Vicente want the community folks
especially the youth to be informed/educated about engaging in games of
chance (those found in the local carnival). They invited a game analyst to
convince the people in the community that they should be mindful of their
chances of losing and winning in these type of games so that they will not
end up wasting time and money. The games analyst needs to present and
disseminate this during the barangay monthly meeting. The presentation
should meet the following standards: use of mathematical concepts,
accuracy, organization, and deliver.
Activity:
Consider yourself as the game analyst invited by the barangay
officials to make an educational presentation on how to convince the
community folks of their chances in losing and winning in those games in the
local carnival. The presentation should meet the set standards.
