ABSTRACT:
This project aims at creating on Hotel Management System which can be used by Admin and
Customers. The admin to advise/publish the availability of rooms in different hotels and
customers are checking the availability of room in required hotel. Customers should be able to
know the availability of the rooms on a particular date to reserve in hotel. They should be able to
reserve the available rooms according to their need in advance to make their stay comfortable.
The Admin hands the booking information of customers. The users can register and log into the
system. The administrator will know the details of reservation and daily income. The hotel
department maintain the seat availability and booking details in certain database. This project
provides high security to Admin and user information.
INTRODUCTION
1. Introduction of Hotel Network Scenario (HNS)
4
Computer network borne out of the need to use personal computers for sharing information within
an organization in the form of messages, sharing files, resources and so forth. Whether the
organization is located in a small area like as in one building or spread over a large area, the need
for networking the computers cannot be over emphasized. A Hotel area network is an essential part
of Hotel system. A Hotel network has several uses such as, result publishing, resource sharing, file
sharing, communication, etc. The Hotel Area Network design is about designing a topology of a
network that is a LAN (Local Area Network) for a Hotel in which various computers of different
departments and buildings are Setup so that they can interact and communicate with each other by
interchanging data. To design a network for a Hotel, which connects various departments and
buildings to each other’s, it puts forward communication among them. One of the purpose of
networking is to reduce isolated users. The systems should be capable of communicating with
others and should provide the desired information. A simulation tool offers a way to predict the
impact on the network of a hardware upgrade, a change in topology. Therefore, in this dissertation,
a HNS network is designed using Cisco Packet Tracer. Cisco Packet Tracer (CPT) is multi- tasking
network simulation software that can be used to perform and analyze various network activities
such as the implementation of different topologies, selection of optimum path based on various
routers, analysis of different network configurations. This Hotel Area Network Scenario is about
designing a topology of a network that is Local Area Network (LAN) for a Hotel area in which
different department has some computers in different buildings set up their network so that they
can interact and communicate with each other by interchanging data.
1. TECHNOLOGY TO BE USED
CCNA: Cisco Systems develop Cisco Certified Network Associate .CCNA is a well-liked
certification in computer networking that. CCNA is discovered by the Cisco, to identify basic
capability in installation and maintenance of medium-sized networks.
The technology is used for connecting various devices like routers, switches and different end
devices to communicate with each other and interchanging data. To construct a methodical and
reliable network, is scalable too. Portability is one of the characteristics of this work application
of the HNS.
2. BASIC ARCHITECTURE
5
Figure 1: Basic Architecture
The basic architecture of HNS generally make use of various types of computers, router, servers,
switches, LAN connections, personal PC’s and Laptops.
3. WORKING OF HNS
6
Figure 2: Working
Cisco Packet Tracer: - Packet Tracer is a cross-platform visual simulation tool designed by
7
Cisco Systems that allows users to create network topologies and imitate modern computer networks.
The software allows users to simulate the configuration of Cisco routers and switches using a
simulated command line interface.
Switch PT: - A network switch is a piece of hardware that facilitates computer networking.
It accepts physical connectors from computers and other devices on a network and then receives and
forwards data using packet switching. Connecting various devices to the ports on a network switch
allows them to interact with each other through data transfer within the switch. Most networking
devices also connect to the internet, allowing the devices to obtain internet access through the switch
ports.
Router PT: - The router is a physical or virtual internetworking device that is designed to
receive and forward data packets between computer networks. A router examines a destination IP
address of a given data packet, and it uses the headers and forwarding tables to decide the best way to
transfer the packets.
Static Routing: - Static routing is a form of routing that occurs when a router uses a
manuallyconfigured routing entry, rather than information from dynamic routing traffic. Static
Routing is also known as non-adaptive routing which doesn’t change routing table unless the network
administrator changes or modify them manually.
It exploits the paths between the two ways, and they can’t automatically be updated. Thus you
must manually reconfigure static routes when the network changes. It uses low bandwidth as
compared to the dynamic maps. It can be used in those areas where the network traffic is predictable
& designed.
It can’t be used in the vast and continuously changing network because they can’t react to the
network change.

Fast Ethernet network module with FX connector, Cisco product number NM-1FE-FX. This
module provides a duplex SC-type fibre-optic port for direct connection to 100BASE-FX Ethernet
networks.
Serial Port
It is used for the WAN connection. It allows point to point connection and basically it is used to
connect routers.
DHCP
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a network management protocol used to
dynamically assign an Internet Protocol (IP) address to any device, or node, on a network so they
can communicate using IP.
DNS SERVER
The Domain Name System (DNS) Server is a server that is specifically used for matching website
hostnames (like example.com) to their corresponding Internet Protocol or IP addresses. The DNS
server contains a database of public IP addresses and their corresponding domain names.
A multilayer switch is a network device that has the ability to operate at higher layers of the OSI
reference model, unlike the Data Link Layer (DLL) traditionally used by switches. A multilayer
switch can perform the functions of a switch as well as that of a router at incredibly fast speeds.

9. CONCLUSION
To Design the network outlook for the community Hotel network scenario produces the
substructure for all other exposure in the service framework such as security of the network,
wireless area network, mobility as well as putting the justification to provide safety and security,
operational efficiencies, virtual environments, and secure rooms. This paper describes the
network design scenario approved by Cisco, as well as where we can apply these scenario within
the various locations of a community Hotel network. Finally, key network foundation services
such as switching, routing, multicast, and high availability are given for the full Hotel network
scenario.
