classes has a diverse religious background. One day, two of the learners insisted that the class should start with a
prayer led by an assigned student. This leads to a heated debate arguing about their own religious and spiritual
beliefs. How can Teacher Luis mediate and help resolve the argument? (You may refer to Department Order (No. 32,
s. 2013) and Department Order (69, s. 1990)).

they should respect his or her decision.

management strategies can Teacher Molina employ to encourage learners to apply the DepEd core values in real life
situations?
ANSWER: Teacher Molina can let the students do an activity where they will portray a chosen national hero that
shows the DepEd Core Values: Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa. By doing so, students will be

3. What are your personal beliefs and values that are aligned with the DepEd’s VMV (Vision, Mission, Core Values)?
ANSWER: My personal belief that is aligned with the DepEd Vision, Mission and Core Values is “Start with yourself”,
because I believe that it is important to improve yourself first to give better education to students. I need to work
harder, improve myself, assess myself, discipline myself to do greater. I don’t need to compete with my fellow
teachers, I need to compete with myself. I need to remember that change starts with myself.
The DepEd School Calendar is a very important plan that provides schools with direction and guidance in organizing
curricular and co-curricular operations within the required number of school days. Following this calendar will greatly
help teachers to establish a routine and expectations while such routine provides time to practice and reinforce their
subjects. It can also provide them informal assessment data about the students. It can also help us visualize our
schedule and remind us of important events in and out of the school. But the most important reason according to
DepEd order no. 34, series of 2022 is that School calendar aims to comply with the required number of school days
to attain the learning standard.

To foster harmonious relationships with the wider school community, it is important to involve learners, parents, and
other stakeholders in identifying and resolving issues and concerns in the school community. Discuss how you can help
in each scenario and involve some key personnel who can help you resolve the following challenges
Scenario 1
Teacher Lozano, the mother of one of your advisory students, visited you in the school because of a bullying incident
that you are not aware of. She was very angry and disappointed about what happened because the incident was not
addressed and resolved properly. Her daughter is still afraid and decided not to go to school that day. The incident
happened during Science time because the teacher was late to enter the class. You also had other classes to attend to
and had no chance to meet your advisory class during that time. Who should you seek help to?
ANSWER: As an adviser I know that the safety of my class is my utmost priority. That is why, I will calmly meet the
parent of the involved student and sincerely apologize for the incident. I will also call upon the students who bullied
the student and together with the parent and her daughter, we will resolve the issue. If the issue was still not
resolved, I will seek help from the school head and the guidance counselor.
Scenario 2
Teacher Mary Ann, a fellow teacher whom you consider a friend, messaged you on Facebook and told you that she will
be absent tomorrow. She asked you to substitute all her five classes. Without letting you respond, she already sent you
the learning materials for her lessons tomorrow. However, you also have classes to attend and your learners are
expecting to deliver a performance task that they prepared for. What are you going to do as a colleague and who should
you direct her to?
ANSWER: I will be honest with my fellow teacher and tell here that I also have classes to attend to. I will advise her to
inform the school head of her absence so that he/she could arrange a substitute for her classes. The school head will
then decide who will be the teacher to attend her class.
Scenario 3
Lito, the class president of your advisory class, was elected as the president of the Supreme Student Government
(SSG). After three months, his subject teachers are having trouble with his class standing because of his frequent
absences and non-submission of required written and performance tasks. Lito is getting overwhelmed with the various
school activities he manages. What are you going to do as the adviser?
ANSWER: First and foremost, I will talk with my student and know how he is doing. I will tell him in the most careful
way of the feedbacks and worries of the subject teachers to his performance in his classes. I will advise him to do
what he thinks is best for him to do and encourage him that even though he is the President of the Supreme Student
Government, he still has other responsibilities that he should consider. He needs to learn to balance these.
