OF COMMUNITY GARDEN

EXCUTIVE ORDER No. __________

WHEREAS, Section 17 (b) (1) (i) of the lOcal Government Code of 1991, the barangays shall
provide basic services and facilities such as agricultural support service which include planting
materials distribution system and operation of farm produce collection and buying stations.

WHEREAS, Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 was issued providing that the production
in non –agricultural areas, such as urban farming, vertical or rooftop gardening, and school and
community gardening, shall be further promoted for subsistence supply as accessible food
sources.

WHEREAS, DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2023-001 dated January 3, 2023, entitled
“Implementation of the Halina’t Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) sa Barangay Project”,
to serve as a strategy to diversify food sources and contribute to ensuring food security in the
country. The project aims to strengthen the capacities of barangays towards sustainable
agriculture initiatives, through barangay community gardening, wherein households and
communities will be encourages to produce fresh, healthy and affordable fruits and vegetables
from their backyards and spaces , and vacant areas of the barangays.

NOW THEREFORE, I, (Barangay Captain), Punong Barangay of (Barangay) Pulilan, Bulacan, by


virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby mandate maintenance, sustainability and
establishment of Community Garden of (Barangay) Pulilan, Bulacan with the following features
to wit:

1. A community garden shall be established in the Barangay, to be maintained and


sustained by barangay officials and 4P’s families.
2. The Municipal Agriculture Office shall provide for the seedlings and seeds to be
used in this project.
3. 4P’s families and the under-weight Pre-school children are expected to benefit
from this project.
4. Source of Fund: Clean & Green Program
