Road Map / Scope of Work

for BIS Registration

Step 1 : Preparation of Application

 Collection of required documents


 Filling of the form
 Preparation of documents as per requirement

Step 2 : Organize the Lab Test Report (LTR)

 Select the identified lab


 Provide the sample of product to get tested
 Get the test result

Step 3 : Submission of Application Form along with LTR

 Ensure the attachment of required documents, LTR & fees


 Make sure the appropriation of filled-up form
 Submission of the complete application form with attachments

Step 4 : Get the BIS Registration

Required Documents & Information


at the time of Application for BIS Registration

o Document authenticating establishment of the firm


(Registration by Company Registrar or State Authority or Memorandum of Article in case
Applicant Firm is a Limited Company or Partnership Deed in case the applicant firm is
under Partnership)

o Details of Machines
(With make, capacity and number)

o Layout plan of factory


(Floor & technical)

o Details of Manufacturing Process


(Process flow chart, outsource process, daily manufacturing capacity)

o Details of Test Equipments


(Name, size & number with calibration details)

o Details of Quality Staff


(Name of person, qualification, designation, experience)

o Registered Trade Mark


(TM number along with copy of brand/label)

o Legal Registration proof of Indian Representative (IR)


(Company/Firm Registration Copy, Tax Registration Copy, Factory license, MSME
certificate etc )

o Brand Authority Letter


(If Indian representative is brand owner then IR will authorize Manufacturer to use
their brand name in IR’s letterhead)

o Brand Declaration
(If brand is not registered in India then , then manufacturer/brand owner have to give
an declaration that they do not have liaison office or registered user in India )

o ID & Address proof of signing authority from IR

o Company Id proof/business card of signing authority from IR

Required Initial Documents


For Lab Testing Report

o Company Legal Proof


(Company/Firm Registration Copy, Tax Registration Copy etc of Manufacturer and
details of Indian Partner in case of Import)

o Brand Name of Product


(Trade Mark Name & Number of Product along with model number, if any)

o Technical Details of Product


(PCB Layout, Circuit Diagram, CB Report, Safety Critical Components’ Test Report* etc)

o Samples of Product

* Safety Critical Components (as per applicable)
