Sample Part-Test
The following is the sample part-test for ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration.
This sample part-test contains 18 questions giving a total of 18 marks.
The actual ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration certification test contains 36
questions giving a total of 36 marks. The candidate has passed the test if
he/she scores 27 out of 36 marks. The pass mark for the module is 75%. The
duration of the actual ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration certification test is 45
minutes.
Although the ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration sample part-test is not a
certification test it does give an indication about the scope and approach
adopted within the actual ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration certification test.
All test items within the actual ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration certification
tests are based on ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration Syllabus Version 1.0.
For further information about the coverage of Skill Sets and Knowledge Areas
in the ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration tests please refer to ECDL / ICDL
Online Collaboration Syllabus Version 1.0 which is available for download at
the appropriate section of the Programmes page of www.ecdl.org
Answerfile
The ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration sample part-test is provided with a
sample answerfile for the sample part-test. The sample answerfile includes a
numbered table into which you can enter your answers and a space to enter
your candidate identification.
Goals
ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration sets out concepts and skills relating to the
setup and use of online collaborative tools, such as storage, productivity
applications, calendars, social media, web meetings, learning environments,
and mobile technology.
Successful candidates will be able to:
 Understand the key concepts relating to online collaboration and cloud
computing.
 Set up accounts to prepare for online collaboration.
 Use online storage and web-based productivity applications to
collaborate.
 Use online and mobile calendars to manage and plan activities.
 Collaborate and interact using social networks, blogs, and wikis.
 Schedule and host online meetings and use online learning
environments.
 Understand key mobile technology concepts and use features such as e-
mail, applications, and synchronisation.

Sample Part-Test 1
This is a sample part-test.
The following is the sample part-test for ECDL / ICDL Online Collaboration.
This test consists of 7 theory questions and 11 practical questions with 1 mark
available for each question. The total marks available are 18 marks.

1. Open the file sample answerfile1 contained in the answer


folder on your Candidate Drive. Enter your candidate
identification number and the answers to the theory questions
and save. [7 Marks]
2. Create a new word processing document online. Save the file
as Marketing.docx to your online storage account. Enter your
candidate identification number at the top of page 1 in the
document. [1 Mark]
3. Share the file Marketing.docx with an e-mail address of your
choice to allow them to edit this file and send an e-mail
notification if required (without any additional message),
accepting all other default settings. Close the online storage
account. [1 Mark]
4. Open the calendar application.
Share your individual candidate calendar with an e-mail
address of your choice to allow them to view full details for this
calendar. [1 Mark]
5. Create a meeting in a shared calendar. Enter your candidate
identification number as the subject of the meeting. Set the
date to a date of your choice and the start time as 10:00 and
the end time as 12:00. Accept all other default settings. [1 Mark]
6. Open the web browsing application.
Go to the following web page address:

Activate the Social Media hyperlink to access the Jose
Ramires profile page. Activate the Settings hyperlink and set
the default privacy setting to Friends and save settings.
Enter the number displayed into the sample answerfile1 (Q.6

space provided) and save. [1 Mark]
8. Reply to the post by Jane Rodgers on October 14th with the
following text: I am not working this Saturday and post your
reply.

space provided) and save. [1 Mark]
9. Navigate to the test home page and activate the Online
Meeting hyperlink. From the File tab, create a new meeting:
Time: 10:00
Date: 19 October
Topic: Management Meeting
Click submit (without adding any e-mail address to invite).
Enter the number displayed into the sample answerfile1 (Q.9
space provided) and save. [1 Mark]
10. Navigate to the test home page and activate the Online
Learning Environment hyperlink. Access the Marketing
course in My Courses.
Enter the name of the course topic that will be covered in
Week Three as your answer into the sample answerfile1
(Q.10 space provided) and save. [1 Mark]
11. Navigate to the test home page and activate the Mobile
hyperlink. In Settings, connect to the Internet using the
HotelCA wireless network and the password stay4days
Enter the number displayed into the sample answerfile1
(Q.11 space provided) and save. [1 Mark]
12. In Mail, send a new e-mail:
To: [email protected]
Subject: Group Project
Mail Content: Can we meet tomorrow at 11?
