MILE MARKERS.
There are nine of ‘em, and they match up with the Mile
Markers in the Road Trip videos.
My suggestion: Approach ‘em in order because they build
on one another. Just like you can’t get to L.A. from
Texas without first passing through Arizona, you can’t
get to More Love without hitting More You first.
FUEL.
Tanks run low and you gotta refuel. When your tank is
running low, be smart. Pull over, fill ‘er up, stretch
your legs, and get going again. These pitstops won’t
take long, but they’re a critical part of the journey.
WATCH OUT.
If I toss one of these bad boys your way, no need to
flinch. It’s just my way of making sure you don’t miss
out on something important.

It’s time to renegotiate — who we are and how we
treat each other. It’s time to reengineer how we can
get where we want and need to go. It’s time to restore
what’s worth keepin’ from our past … and what’s worth

We’re all looking for more — in our relationships, careers, and personal life. On this
roadtrip, we’re gonna be traveling partners as we explore our past, our present, and our
future. We’re gonna figure out who we are, what we want, and how to get there.
Along the way, we’ll figure out how to navigate the highways and byways, dealing with the
red, yellow, and greenlights we encounter on our journey together. We’ll push each other to
dig deeper, have more fun, and explore the art of livin’.
Green, as we know, means all systems GO. The goal is: Create and

When it comes to yellow lights, some should be ignored and some should be
embraced. Denying actual warning signs, though, can be like putting a piece
of duct tape over the “low fuel” light in your car and driving yourself dry.
The secret is knowing when a “check engine” notification is legit, and when
it’s trying to tell you a bruise is a broken arm.
YOUR TURN: What are some warning signs you’ve denied in the past, when you should
have slowed down to take inventory?
e.g. “I ignore any discomfort in my body and keep pushing through, which more often
than not leads to sickness or burnout, and costs me days to recover.”
YOUR TURN: When have you given in to a yellow light when you should have floored it?
e.g. “I got a negative performance review in my first job. Instead of doubling down
and addressing my areas of improvement, I quit. I still kick myself for not sticking
it out.”
YOUR TURN: Do you have a pile of shit you keep steppin’ in over and over? What is
it — and how are you going to avoid it in the future?
e.g. “I keep hooking up with people who tell me upfront they aren’t looking for any-
thing serious — and then get blindsided when they dump me a few months later. In the
future, I need to believe what they tell me the first time.”

If you’ve ever been frisked, you know that it can
feel invasive, like all your secrets are laid

we don’t wanna be gentle. Let’s get in there and
shake out the lies we’ve been telling ourselves,
the ones we’re telling others, and the ones we’ve

Pretty much everyone wants more CHOICE. It sounds like freedom, right? While responsibility

— procrastination — is also a choice. So we need to get curious about how to make better
choices.
There’s a difference between a renter’s and an owner’s mentality. Renters are short-term,
looking for the quick flip. Owners are looking to invest in a long-term asset.

Consequences are the outcomes of our choices. You can
engineer better outcomes by putting rails on your
choices. Set it up from the outcome so if things go
south, you’ve got a guardrail — a runaway truck ramp

YOUR TURN: What decisions are you facing right now where you can set up some guard-
rails, where you can limit the negative impacts of your choices?
e.g. “I want a new job, but I can save a few months’ worth of expenses before I give
notice.”
Ask yourself if you want to, before you do. Just because it’s available doesn’t mean you
need to say “Yes.” Cutting out options can help you get where you want to go.
YOUR TURN: Think about an upcoming decision, big or small. What options can you cut?
e.g. “You’re trying to decide which of several job opportunities to accept. You de-

When most people think about “love,” they typically have a one-dimensional view of what it
is. Open up your beliefs about what love must be, and you will experience more love in your
life.
Self-love and selfless love. Both are necessary, because we can only value someone else
when we value ourselves. Both start with respect, honesty, and trust. Selfless love is
rooted in service. Acts of service for someone else can mean as much to the giver as the
receiver — if you give with no expectation of compensation.
