Al-Jāḥiẓ writing in the 9th century describes the Indian race.
One of the questions considered "chicken or egg" tier by 9th century Arabs was "What are the origins of
Indian civilisation?" and also "When did Greek civilisation collapse?"
It seems there was Egyptian-like mystery on how Indian civilisation began.

He also seemed to consider the Indians to be lighter skinned than Arabs, interesting given Arab relations
were strongest with Rashtrakutas who were probably not as fair skinned like Northern Indians. Maybe
Sindhis are the reason for it?

always has been.
The philosophy of religion was solved in India. Look no
further.
I personally lean to the Paramadvaita of Utpaladeva and
Abhinavagupta, but far more renown and more
impactful is Advaita as most know it, that of Adi
Shankaracharya and Gaudapada
