The document summarizes key points from a video about the relationship between mathematics and nature. [1] The video showed several mathematical patterns that occur in nature, like the Fibonacci sequence, golden ratio, angle ratios, Delaunay triangulation, and Voronoi tessellations. [2] It helped the students understand that nature can be described and measured using mathematical concepts and numbers. [3] Questions they still have include why mathematics is needed in daily life, how significant it truly is, and how exactly mathematics interacts with other aspects of the world.

Nature by Numbers
1. Three things that I significantly learned from the video clip
The clip shows a series of mathematical principles. The first thing that
we have noticed was the Fibonacci sequence, right after that was the
Golden ratio, followed by Angle ratio, next the Delaunay Triangulation,
and lastly, the Voronoi Tessellations. After we had watched the video clip
we realized that even in nature there is a mathematics in terms of that is
we can really see numbers, shapes, patterns/never ending patterns, logic
and such that are really connected in mathematics and nature can be
understood using mathematics also in math it able to understand or to
reason out the population numbers as well as what we can see in
nature or even in our physical appearance or characteristics. Nature’s
number by Ian Stewart enlightened us how nature really connects in
mathematics and such. It shows how nature interact to a lot of certain
things in this world. We saw a lot from nature but because of this video,
we have realized that those can be measured by numbers and it adds a
lot more power and beauty in it.

2. Three things that are still unclear to me.

Here are the things we think are unclear to us. First, still thinking if what
are the reasons why we need math in our daily life? Thinking of we just
need the basics of solving for situations like going to a grocery, paying
and checking if you have received the right amount of change. Second,
is the subject Mathematics really significant? Why is it complicated? We
wanna know how significant it is in dealing with the situations we
encounter everyday. The third and the last one, how do math really
works in which is which? If how do mathematics and other things
existing in this world really interact with each other. But actually
because of the clip, we were a bit enlightened on how to answer the
questions in our mind.
3. We used to think that
We used to think that what we saw has nothing to do with
Mathematics and is not that really helpful or doesn’t make sense
but as we watched the video clip we’ve realized that in every form of
nature, environment or even in human that shows characteristic or
what. There is a Mathematical situation existing, just like a simple
calculation of your blood circulation, the degree of water
temperature in the river or even in the land and sea. Math widen
our knowledge even more in daily life cause we almost need and
used it at all times in our daily life.

4. Three questions that I want to ask about the video clips

The three questions we have come up with was; (1) Is it really

necessary that nature and mathematics should be connected with
each other? Or they just represent the principles of mathematics? (2)
What will happen to us if there is no mathematics? Will it ruin us or
make it more complicated? (3) How does mathematics occupy the
world we live? What kind of life we have to live if it doesn't exist?
These are the things that came into our mind as we watch the video.
We became curious at the start but we were getting interested as the
clip was playing. From an ignorant mind down to an educated
mind. It left a "wow" factor of feeling inside. As we continue learning
this subject, we hope we have a lot to learn up until the end of the
class, and that we'll make sure that we'll apply it to the real modern
world.
