This section provides you with an opportunity to

outline your planning and organization over a
period of weeks and the activities you will need to
conduct in order to successfully complete
your project in the agreed time frame. The more
time and thought you give to
planning your project, the more successful it is
likely to be.

It is important that you consider how you will

balance ambition, time and realism in the
realization of the project. You should also include
what you are going to do, how you will do it
and by when. Remember to include: time spent
sourcing materials and other resources to conduct
research, feedback from tutors and peers, and
when you will carry out independent study.

Bibliography (Harvard Format):

This section provides an opportunity to record the

initial research sources, both primary and
secondary, that you intend to use.

Your sources of research should be as wide

as possible and could include libraries,
galleries, books, magazines, films, computer games,
websites, blogs, social media, radio programs,
archive material etc. Where appropriate, you
should use the Harvard
system of referencing. The bibliography should be
continuously updated as the
project progresses.

Section 1: Rationale
(approx. 100 words)
The brief of the personal project is Text and Image. This means that we can create an entire
project based on text and image which is very broad so we have total freedom over what we
choose to do. I am confident in completing this task as I have planned for my project. This
project will call upon my knowledge of the Adobe software and the skills along with them for
my work. It will also require me to use my knowledge of research in business branding. My
project will be to create a portfolio style record label. I will create a brand identity for a made-
up record label. The learning opportunities shall be that I can create an effective brand identity
from nothing. It will also grow my ability to create advertisements.

Section 2: Project
Concept
My idea for this project is to create a portfolio of a record label. This will include the brand
(approx. 200 words) identity, such as colours to use, fonts, logos etc. I will create merchandise like business cards,
tshirts and social media promotions. These will all require to follow the guidelines of the
label. The target audience of my record label will be to budding new musicians who struggle
to get recognition in the music industry. The main genre will be metal/rock and roll. The
research I could do for this project will be to research existing record labels in the same genre
to see what works and what does not. They will also be competitors which will be another
factor in the research. I will also research effective social media promotions and use colour
theory to create a good brand identity. I will need to research websites to put my work onto to
make it look professional. The practical work will be mainly used on the Adobe softwares to
create the social media promotions, logo designs, motion graphics and merchandise. I will
need the resources of the computer and a website to create the portfolio onto such as Weebly,
wix or GoDaddy.

Section 3: Evaluation
(approx. 50 words)
I will reflect my progress by doing a weekly reflection which I will document and or a focus
group with peers to receive feedback. I will plan for the week ahead to maximise outcomes. I
will continuously annotate throughout the project to add another way to reflect my work. I will
also finish my project to then write a project evaluation at the end of the project. I will use this
to reflect on what went well, where I could’ve improved, what I learnt from this project and
more.
