Communication is the art of exchanging messages between two or more people. Interpersonal communication is the process by which people exchange information through verbal and non-verbal messages. Interpersonal skills also include the ability to:
1. listen and understand
2. solve problems 3. make decisions 4. manage personal stress Verbal communication is the use of sounds and words to express yourself, especially in contrast to using gestures or mannerisms. An example of verbal communication is saying ‘no’ when someone asks you to do something you don’t want to do. Nonverbal communication is the transfer of information through the use of body language including eye contact, facial expressions, gestures and more. Conversation or dialogue is a natural part of life in which people can exchange information and maintain social relationships with friends, family members and others. But, as second language speakers of English language it is challenging to keep the conversation/dialogue going. Quiz Directions: Create a conversation about the topics or situation given below.
