NARRATIVE REPORT ON LAUNCHING OF DISRICT READING CAROUSEL

BALINGOAN DISTRICT

With school closures and the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
causing uncertainty in children's education, the Division of Misamis Oriental stepped
up and launched the Reading Carousel Project. Balingoan District enjoined and
launched the program last February 28, 2022 at Balingoan Central School which was
participated by different schools, LGU officilas, stakeholders, parents and students.
The project aims to bring together DepEd partners and other stakeholders
from various sectors to assist in reaching out to all learners and encouraging them to
read and become functionally literate. It also aims to raise awareness and
understanding of the importance of literacy as a foundation for learning.

The host school of the launching of the program Balingoan Central School,
headed by the district reading coordinator, Elvira E. Panulaya, Master Teacher II of
BCS, exemplified her rationale and well-thought-out plan for the said launching. The
stage itself was made for the event – onboarding for the smooth sail of the project. It
started with the onboard teachers ushering the guests from the district office, reading
coordinators, LGU officials, parents, and teachers.

The highlight of the launching was the impeccable simulation of the

Reading Carousel Project which was participated by the Balingoan Disrict In-Charge,
Dr. Aileen F. Dabon, school principal and school heads, school reading coordinators
and onboard teachers, and learners. The presence of the municipal mayor, Hon.
Aaron Paul S. Unabia, chairman committee of education, Hon. Roberto M. Corrales
Jr.; federated GPTA president, Richard L. Jabagat; made the simulation even more
meaningful since they witnessed firsthand the value and purpose of the project.

The event was even made livelier when Nneky Rose B. Cabactulan,
Balingoan CS Grade 2 pupil, delivered her story while Xyzhieah B. Pateno, San
Alonzo ES Grade 1 pupil recited a poem. This made the crowd appreciate the value
of reading.
A ceremonial MOA signing took place to document the cooperation of the
DepEd partners and other stakeholders from various sectors. This was supported by
a pledge of commitment rendered by the chairman committee on education, Hon.
Roberto M. Corrales Jr. A closing remark was them delivered by the school principal
of Mantangale Elementary School, Angie C. Ordinan.
Part two of the program was showcased as everyone was enticed by the
simulation which starts with the entranced of the mobile carousel. A simulation on
MisOr Reading Through Carousel Project was witnessed by everyone. The
attendance showed by the guests was the turning point that the launching was a
success.
The launching of the activity was indeed a success to everyone. Everyone
is reminded with the cooperation in the implementation of the program for the
upcoming days. Everyone is looking forward to see a successful implementation and
