March 23rd Literacy Lesson Plan 1

This lesson teaches students to practice visualizing descriptions from texts by having them draw what is described. The teacher will read passages from The Little Prince and The Hobbit aloud, pausing to discuss details for students to include in their drawings. Formative assessments will check students' understanding and ability to visualize based on the passages. At the end of the lesson, students will transition to their book groups to continue practicing visualizing characters, settings, and details from descriptive words in their texts.
