At the end of the lesson the Grade 6 pupils are expected to:

particular subject. The people are debating.

3. Abstraction
Class expressing opinions is an act of
telling people of what you think about a
subject or situation.
Expressing Opinions can begin with ( It depends on pupils answer)
phrases such as the following:
I think I strongly believe
I believe To be honest
In my opinion In my experience

It has agreeing with an opinion and


disagreeing opinion.
Agreeing opinion is to agree the opinion of
others.
Ex: I agree with you
I strongly believe
I completely agree with this view.

Disagreeing opinion is to disagree the


opinion of others.

Ex: I do not believe that

I'm sorry to disagree with that

I think that's wrong.

In expressing opinions it has also supported and


unsupported opinion.

Supported opinion authorities to support the claim.

Ex: I love chocolate ice cream, because it's completely


refreshing, so sweet and amazingly.
So the author support the claim that he/she loves
chocolate ice cream.

Unsupported opinion it is not supported the fact and is


not given by authority, they don't have proof or
evidence to show that they are true.

Ex: The sun is bad for you.

P.E is the best class.

There is no supporting opinions because it has no


proof or evidence.
