ACTOR/ACTRESS REPORT

You will select an actor or actress that you admire and prepare a report to share with the class. Your
report will include a slide presentation along with a detailed, rehearsed verbal presentation. You will
be provided with a list of 90 actors/actresses to choose from. You may select an actor not on this list,
but it must be approved by the teacher.

PRIMARY SOURCE: IMDB.COM

The Internet Movie Database contains detailed information about films, TV shows, and actors. Type
a name in the search and you’ll discover a wealth of information about their career including shows
they’ve been, upcoming shows, awards won, trivia, and their basic biography.

SECONDARY SOURCES

IBDB.COM -  The Internet Broadway Database. If your chosen actor has performed on Broadway,
you can learn all about it here. Type your actor’s name in - you may be surprised!
WIKIPEDIA - Type your actor’s name into the search and get a more detailed history about them.
YOUTUBE -    For videos of interviews, trailers, and scenes.

SLIDE1: Your actor or actress’s name and a collage of pictures, Date of birth, were
they were born/grew up. Are they known more as a comedic or dramatic actor?

SLIDE 2: List 2 shows/roles that they are particularly famous for. Share pictures. Briefly
describe the characters they played.  Are these comedic or dramatic roles?

SLIDE 3: Share some interesting details. Select 3 pieces of information from their bio. If they’ve
                 done Broadway, include it here.

SLIDE 4: Continue sharing interesting details. Select 3 trivia facts and include a personal quote.

SLIDE 5: Have they been nominated for or won any awards? If there are many, list 2 or 3 and
include Oscars and Emmys. If there are no awards, list a role that you think they
should have won an award for and explain why.

SLIDE 6: List a few talk shows or podcasts that they’ve done (maybe they have their own?)
Find an interview of them and include a short clip, 30 seconds - 1 min.

SLIDE 7: Do they have credits for anything other than acting (have they been a producer, writer,
or director)? If not, tell us about their hobbies or interests outside of acting.

SLIDE 8: Briefly explain why you chose this performer - do they make you laugh? Cry? Perform
roles you can relate to? Inspire you?

SLIDE 9: What upcoming projects are they working on? (Look at the top of the imdb credits)
SLIDE 10: Include a clip of them acting. This can be from a trailer or scene. Keep it under 2 min.
