Document Title: Technical Proposal For 6500cbm LNG Storage Tank

This technical proposal outlines the design of a 6500 cubic meter LNG storage tank for an LNG carrier. The key details include: - The tank will have a single cylindrical shell with hemispherical heads, above deck arrangement, 12200mm diameter, 59900mm length, and 6500 cubic meter capacity. - The tank structure will include stiffening rings, an anti-sloshing plate, a dome on the top, and a sump at the bottom. - The tank foundations will include one fixed bearing and one slide bearing using wooden blocks and stainless steel sheets to allow for thermal movement. Anti-flotation devices will also be included. - Polyurethane foam

1.2 Classification, Rule& Regulations to be applied

- Classification Society Rules
- IGC Code
- Other rules acceptable to classification societies
2. Tank General Data
The tank is LNG storage tank IMO type C of single shell. The dimensions of each tank are as follows:
No. 1 Tank
Tank type Type C with single wall
Tank Shape Cylindrical
Heads Hemi-Spherical Head
Arrangement Above deck
Diameter inside 12200mm

2.3 Tank Foundations
To ensure free movement of the tanks due to temperature changes, one support is to be designed as a
fixed bearing and the other as a slide bearing. The supports are equipped with special impregnated and
laminated press wood. For the slide bearing, wooden blocks are installed on tank side as well on ship
side. Stainless steel sheets are installed between the wood blocks.
A set of anti-flotation devices are to be provided in order to keep the tank in position.

2.4 Tank Insulation

The outer surface of the tanks is to be insulated with polymeric coating. Thickness of Polyurethane foam
insulation shall be appox. 300 mm.
Data for tank insulation
λ-value ~0.023 W/m ℃
Thickness ~300 mm
Foam density ~ 40 kg/m3
B.O.R.(filling @ 89%) ~0.23 %/day
Class approval for tank by TBD
NOTE:
Detailed insulation calculation to be made by insulation maker.
