Demo 102

This document provides teaching materials for a 10th grade mathematics lesson on permutations. It includes objectives to define permutations, illustrate permutations using formulas, and apply permutations to real-life problems. The lesson concepts cover multiplication rules for independent events, factorial notation, and defining permutations as arrangements with proper order. Sample problems are provided to practice permutations taken all at a time or some at a time using formulas. Students will participate in an activity to solve permutation problems in groups and review applications of permutations in music.

PSSL COMPETENCY/ COMPETENCY CODE: M10SP-IIIa-1

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
KNOWLEDGE: Define permutations.
SKILLS: Illustrate the permutations of object by finding number of arrangements or ways using the
formula.
ATTITUDE: Appreciate the importance of permutations inr ealmlife situations by solving real life
problems.
SUBJECT MATTER: MELC 1: ILLUSTRATING THE PERMUTATIONS OF OBJECTS.
CONCEPTS:
 Multiplication Rule; if A and B are two independents events in a probablityb experiment, then the probability of
both events occur simultaneously is P(A and B)= P(A)• P(B).
 Factorial Notation; the process of multiplying consecutive decreasing whole numbers is called “factorial”. the
notation for factorial is an exclamation point.
 Permutation; permutation is the arrangement of all parts of a set of objects with proper order.
