Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Q. I receive notifications in Cat Inspect when trying to submit the sample(s). Why?
A. There are two potential causes for notifications to occur when trying to submit; the asset is not properly
entered into S·O·S Services Manager or the sample ID number is not associated to the dealership identified

should be corrected. If the notification is not corrected, please contact the S·O·S Services Help Desk for

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Q. I receive S·O·S Services Manager notifications when scanning the new barcode. Why?
A. There are typically two causes for the notifications; submission error or the serial number is not properly
set up in S·O·S Services Manager. Submission errors could occur if there wasn’t any wireless connection at
time of submission or the device did not recognize the command. If the serial number is not set up in Services
Manager, or the serial number is associated to a different dealer, a notification will occur. To correct the
notifications, the lab registration clerk can ensure the assets are properly entered into S·O·S Services
Manager and associated to your dealership. If the notification is not corrected, please contact the S·O·S
Services Help Desk.
