(WINDOWS ACCESSORISE)

Q 2. EXPLAIN ANY 4 WINDOWS ACCESSORIES.

 1.CALCULATOR -

A calculator is a device that performs arithmetic

operations on numbers. Basic calculators can do only
addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
mathematical calculations.
However, more sophisticated calculators can handle
exponential operations, square roots, logarithms,
trigonometric functions and hyperbolic functions.
Internally, some calculators perform all these functions
by repeated addition processes.

2.PAINT –

Patrick, a computer technician, is a dedicated writer

who wishes to make the world better by informing
individuals who seek more knowledge.

Microsoft Paint is a drawing program rarely used by

many computer users. There are those who even do
not know it exists. It is important to know how to use
Microsoft Paint program, because there are a number
of things you can do with it.
The Paint program can be used to create simple to
detailed drawings, but of course, it will depend on who
is doing it. The best thing is that these drawings can be
done either in black and white or in colour.

3. NOTEPAD –

Notepad is a generic text editor included with all

versions of Microsoft Windows that lets you create,
open, and read plaintext files with a .txt file extension.
If the file contains special formatting or is not a
plaintext file, it cannot be read in Notepad. The image
shown here is a small example of what the Notepad
may look like while running.
4.WORDPAD –

WordPad can format and print text, including font and

bold, italic, colored, and centered text, and lacks
functions such as a spell checker, thesaurus, and
control of pagination. It does not support footnotes
and endnotes. WordPad can read, render, and save
many Rich Text Format (RTF) features that it cannot
create, such as tables, strikeout, superscript, subscript,
"extra" colors, text background colors, numbered lists,
right and left indentation, quasi-hypertext and URL
linking, and line-spacing greater than 1. Among its
advantages are low system-resource usage, simplicity,
and speed. Pasting into WordPad from an HTML
document, such as a Web page or email, typically
automatically converts most or all of it to RTF (this
depends partly on the Web browser from which the
text is copied). WordPad is suited to taking notes;
writing letters and stories; and use on various tablets,
PCs, and smart phones. It is underpowered for work
that relies heavily on graphics and typesetting, such as
most publishing-industry requirements for rendering
final hard copy.

(SYSTEM TOOL)

Q 3.EXPLAIN ANY 4 SYSTEM TOOLS.

1.DISK CLEANUP-

Disk Cleanup is a Microsoft software utility first

introduced with Windows 98 and included in all
subsequent releases of Windows. It allows users to
remove files that are no longer needed or that can be
safely deleted. Removing unnecessary files, including
temporary files, helps speed up and improve the
performance of the hard drive and computer. Running
Disk Cleanup at least once a month is an excellent
maintenance task and frequency.

As the image shows, Disk Cleanup can delete

temporary Internet files (associated with Internet
Explorer), downloaded program files, and offline
webpages. Disk Cleanup also lets you empty the
Recycle Bin, delete temporary files, and delete
thumbnails.

2.DISK DEFRAGMENT-
Defragmentation is the process of consolidating
fragmented files on the user's hard drive. Files become
fragmented when data is written to disk, and there is
not enough contiguous space to hold the complete file.
Storage algorithms break the data apart so that it will
fit into the available space.

The process of defragmentation moves the data blocks

on the hard drive around to bring all the parts of a file
together. Defragmentation reduces file system
fragmentation, increasing the efficiency of data
retrieval and thereby improving the overall
performance of the computer. At the same time, it
cleans the storage and provides additional storage
capacity.

Defragmentation is the opposite of fragmentation,

which is an inefficient use of computer storage.
3.SYSTEM RESTORE-

System Restore is a Microsoft® Windows® tool

designed to protect and repair the computer software.
System Restore takes a "snapshot" of the some system
files and the Windows registry and saves them as
Restore Points. When an install failure or data
corruption occurs, System Restore can return a system
to working condition without you having to reinstall
the operating system. It repairs the Windows
environment by reverting back to the files and settings
that were saved in the restore point.

4.CONTROL PANNEL-

The Control Panel is a component of Microsoft

Windows that provides the ability to view and change
system settings. It consists of a set of applets that
include adding or removing hardware and software,
controlling user accounts, changing accessibility
options, and accessing networking settings.
