What made you decide to do a live selling and how did you start?
5 responses

Since the pandemic, we were prohibited to interact with people to prevent the transmission of
the disease. Hence, online classes were the outcome. By that, we were no longer given
financial assistance from our parents so we decided to think of a way to generate income - live
selling. We started small and invested small capital for our items until we are able to roll the
income so we can accommodate our own necessities. Since then, we became financially
independent.

Motivations on starting an online business:

1. Business opportunity
2. Passion driven
3. Income

I've been doing online business for 6 years already. I started since college, as an application of
my chosen career and my passion. I am fond of buying different types of clothes so I have
decided to make money out of it. By maximizing the use of social media, I created selling
account and started selling my pre-owned clothes and resell the items I bought cheaper in
bulk. Through consistency, this business helped me in my financial needs during college and
an additional income now that I am working.

Before I became a live seller, I was a buyer. That time, I don’t want to do it because I can't keep
up with school and work. During the pandemic, we’ve seen tons of live selling videos, and they
can really get you hooked and it’s effective. They’ll just show the items, and then they can
make a sale even if they’re at home. And I feel that it’s fun to do since I have nothing to do, and
I want to share the love for fashion.

additional income/allowance

Since most of us are transitioning to the digital world, I decided to do live selling as well.
During the pandemic, we’ve seen tons of live selling videos and nakaka-hook talaga siya and
effective. Ipapakita lang nila iyong items then they can easily make a sale kahit nasa bahay
lang sila. And feeling din namin fun siya gawin pero sa una siyempre hindi rin talaga siya
madali, sugal siya, kasi hindi mo alam kung may papansin ba sa’yo, may manonood ba sa’yo,
may bibili ba.

What are the challenges or struggles ypu have encountered before and during a live
selling?
5 responses

Mostly after. Logistics, packaging and invoices.

1. Slow internet connection

2. Setting up the studio itself
3.Packaging and logistics
4. Trust issues on dummy accounts
5. Joy reservers / Bogus buyers

Everything Is a challenge. When you are watching live selling videos, at first, it looks like it’s
easy, but in reality it requires a lot of work. Before the live selling I have to make an
announcement that about the live selling so that the target customers would be aware of it.
However, there are some buyers who can’t understand, that’s why it’s really stressful. I have
have to sort the items that to show, it needs to be washed and ironed. Do the pricing and
labeling of clothes for the sizes and prices. Then, I have to set up the camera, ring light, and
background. It is also difficult to interact with different kinds of people at first but I got used to
it. After all the effort I made "joy buyers" are the worst.

organizing the products and the internet connection is not that stable

I-sosort
ninyo ang items na ipapakita. Lalabhan, pa-plantsahin. Magpa-pricing. Lalagyan ng label ang
mga damit for sizes and prices. Then, need mo i-set up ang camera, ring light, background.
Tapos during the actual live, mayroon dapat magshe-share ng video sa iba’t ibang groups, FB
accounts. May tagabantay ng comments. And siyempre, iyong nagho-host ng live, usually
nagpapalit-palit ng damit kasi mas na-aappreciate ng viewers kapag tina-try talaga iyong mga
damit.

What is the hardest part in your problem?

5 responses

Customer Dispute.

Having joy reservers or bogus buyers.

The hardest part are "Joy Miners". There are instances wherein I have packed the items, and
was expecting an income that day. Then suddenly, they will no longer be getting the items. It
feels like your time and effort to sell the item have gone to waste.

the bugos buyers is the most hardest giving effort in preparing and only to be disappointed in
the end.

Struggle of getting more viewers

When was the last time your problem hapened and what was the effect?
5 responses

It happened once, but we were able to negotiate and meet at a common point that will benefit
both parties. We improved our services to achieve customer satisfaction.

January 28, 2023

Effects :
1. Loss - reselling for a lower price tha n it should to clear out stocks FIFO ( First In, First Out)
approach
2. Waste of resources (time, internet, packing materials, delivery costs)

It just happened last night, It’s really heartbreaking, especially that you have given so much
hard work then in return there is no income.

It happen often and most of the bugos items is hard to sell in the next live.

To be honest, every time we do the live selling and it greatly affect our morale seeing that we
still have low viewers even though we shared the live video with different people or groups.

How did you overcome the problems you have encountered?

5 responses

We negotiated with the customer so we can have better transactions next time.

I have addressed the mentioned problems encountered by:

1. Investing in fast internet connection
2. Strategic planning
ex. Investing in convenient things for the business (aesthetic stuffs) and maximizing resources
I have
3. Time management - Packing orders right after the posting/ live selling
4. Non entertainment of dummy accounts unless shows interest to lessen joy reserved items:
ex. Payment first policy before shipment/delivery
5. Reselling the joy reserved item

Before ending the live I have to wait for everone to check-out, but if they don't I have to block
and resell the item again. It was hard to let go of a customer becasue they're the reason why I
make an income but for it not to happen again I have to block them for viewing the live.

Just accept it and move on.

We used facebook as our main platform for live selling. Facebook is the most accessible
platform to everyone. Siya iyong may wider reach since halos lahat ng tao ay Facebook ang
naunang na-discover na social media platform. Siya iyong napili namin since lahat ng kakilala
namin ay sure kami na may Facebook. Mas madali rin makakuha ng potential buyers with the
help of Facebook groups. Also having a good description in your promotional materials, live
broadcast post, and the recording results to potential viewers know what to expect from your
live stream and newcomers during the video will be able to jump in without confusion. We’ve
found that by adding a thorough description, viewers tend to engage with the video more and
therefore increase view duration. Additionally, adding questions that you’ll be answering, or
solutions you’ll be providing, sets an expectation of takeaways and agenda.

What are the issues of the solutions you have tried?

5 responses

We sacrificed some of our time entertaining that specific customer to avoid future issues. We
gave freebies and gave a lot of our patience. But it was all a part of delivering good customer
service and maintaining quality control.

1. Stress
2. Fatigue
3. Additional time spent for reselling the joy reserved item

Even if I block the buyers who are "joy miners" before there are still people who replace them.
However, it really seems to be part of live selling.

The issue in the solution that we apply is that sometimes we reach our limit most especially
those bugos buyers who buys a lot.

The platform has since announced the removal of its live shopping feature, effective October 1,
2022 and because of this medyo nahirapan kami maglive selling dahil maraming features ang
tinanggal ng FB.
