DLL Q1 Lesson 3 Properties of Solution

This document contains a daily lesson log for a 7th grade science class taught by Maria Elizabeth Y. Cusi. The lesson objectives were for students to understand properties of solutions and prepare different concentrations of mixtures. Students investigated properties of saturated and unsaturated solutions by mixing samples like sugar, salt, and powdered juice in water and observing their properties. They described the mixtures, identified solutes and solvents, and determined which mixtures formed solutions that could be separated by filtration. The teacher evaluated students' understanding and required additional activities for some students who did not score 80% on the formative assessment.

new skills #1 1. Put one cup of water in each of the cups.
2. Add ½ teaspoon of each of the six samples. Use the teaspoon to dissolve
as much of each sample as possible. Use a different teaspoon for each
of the cups.

4.Filter the mixture with filter paper . In the absence of filter paper, you may
use katsa or old, white T-shirt with the improvised funnel from plastic bottle.
