REFLECTION

The reflection paper summarizes the student's experience at a symposium about the effects of illegal drugs. The student learned that illegal drugs are harmful and should be avoided in order to prevent ruining one's life or health. While drugs may provide temporary relief, the long-term consequences outweigh any short-term benefits. Drug education is critical to help people understand these consequences and prevent influence or curiosity from leading them to drug use. The symposium provided new and informative learning for students.

REFLECTION PAPER

Symposium about effects on illegal drugs

Awareness of Illegal drugs is a major problem in the Philippines today. Drugs are not bad in
most cases. There are drugs that are so illegal that some people want to take them without
knowing their effects. . Also, be aware that overuse of the drug can lead to an overdose, which
can be harmful. With regard to this issue, drug education or awareness is essential to
everyone’s life. Because you can know what and who each medicine is for. We also need to
know how these drugs can affect our bodies and, of course, our health.
At our previous symposium, I learned a lot, especially about illegal drugs and their
effects. It really makes me think that illegal drugs are something we should avoid and shouldn’t
try. That’s not good and it’s a way of ruining someone’s life. Today, illegal drugs are very
common and we should be really aware of them because they can harm anyone and there are
no exceptions. I believe there is a need to show the public how and how harmful illegal drugs
can be. Drug addiction is a chronic disease that cannot be cured, but it is in fact treatable.
Support groups and anti-drug programs are good ways to help drug addicts and young people
relapse.
In addition, some people are easily swayed. Of course, many of us would claim that
temptation is difficult to overcome. Curiosity can sometimes bring us to this position. Now, come
on, people, we should realize the advantages and disadvantages of having this option. It can be
applied to drug use. Some people use it to be influenced by others, some think they will seem
stylish but are not, and yet others use it because they are bored and want to forget about
everything. To be honest, this is not the solution to your problem; it may temporarily assist you,
but it will simply add to your burden.
Drugs are harmful unless they are prescribed as a medicine. If you use illegal substances,
you are more likely to lose control and do things you would not normally do. Generally, drug
education or awareness is critical. Those with weak minds will continue to be influenced by their
curiosity about drugs or by other individuals if this is not done. People will use drugs
understanding only the short-term benefits they will receive, but not the long-term
consequences.
The program ended at past 5 o’clock in the afternoon. The symposium has been
informative that it left new learning to all the students of Davao Del Sur State College Matti
Digos City.
