SMP FOR DP TRANSMITTER

Scope/Purpose: This SMP is applicable for DP Transmitter.


Responsibility : Instrument section -Engineer
Accountability : Section In-Charge
PPE:
1. Safety Gloves
2. Safety shoes
3. Safety helmet
4. Safety goggles
5. Nose mask

Tools:

1. Multi meter
2. Spanner Set
3. Process Calibrator
4. Process Hand Pump if Required
5. Tube fittings as Required

Hazard Analysis:

Leg Injury Carefully walk on staircase with help of handrail


Training needs:

1. First aid procedures
2. Operating procedures
3. Safety talk should be held between workmen and in-charge(TBT,HIRA)

Procedure:

Ø Obtain necessary work permit and LOTO procedures before carrying out maintenance work.
Ø Inform CCR related interlocks necessary.
Ø Isolate transmitter from the process line.

SMP FOR DP TRANSMITTER

Ø Drain process material from the drain line of the SS tube


Ø Clean transmitter body for dust and foreign material
Ø Note down Zero and Range values of transmitter
Ø Use Scandura process calibrator or Dead Weight tester for calibration
Ø Put pressure tube fitting at high (H) point of the transmitter and Keep Low (L) point to the
atmosphere.
Ø Apply pressure in the range of 0%,25%,50%,75% and 100%
Ø Note down the reading in the calibration report of the transmitter along with the error.
Ø Apply pressure in the range of 100%,75%,50%,25% and 0%
Ø Note down the reading in the calibration report of the transmitter along with the error.
Ø Check readings error within range of transmitter specification if not then go for Span and Zero
calibration.
Ø Keep both (High and low) ports open for transmitter, drain if process material in the manifold
line with the help of drain plug.
Ø Press zero button at the top of transmitter to make reading zero.
Ø Apply full range of transmitter pressure at high point of transmitter and press span button at
the top of transmitter.
Ø Recheck transmitter with 0 to 100 % measurement range.
Ø Remove all isolation and take transmitter on line in the process and inform operation person
