The law of Pakistan, as outlined in its constitutional amendments, guarantees journalistic
freedom, while the Freedom of Information Ordinance of 2002 and Code of Conduct Rules of
2010 specifically defend national integrity, moral ideals, and sovereignty in general.

Issues:
There are too many challenges they must deal with, such as job security concerns, threats, the
need for professional development, pressed deadlines, and long work hours. Additionally, the
respondents disclosed that these challenges are having a negative impact on their ability to do
their jobs by leading to certain physical and mental health problems.

Challenges:
Maintaining credibility as a reliable news source and combating false news were of utmost
importance to 32% of those surveyed. 16% of responders also mentioned a shortage of
resources brought on by newsroom reductions.
