ELVIS PRESLEY
Elvis Presley was a popular singer. He was a success in many
different kinds of music such as popular, country, religious, blues
but in special Rock & Roll. He only recorded in English. He
never performed outside the United States, except for three shows
in Canada. Elvis Aaron Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi
on January 8th,1935. His family was extremely poor. During his
childhood, he sang in the church with his parents. Elvis and his
family moved to Memphis, Tenessee when he was thirteen. There
he recorded the first song for his mother and he paid four dollars.
A woman at the public recording studio noticed his talent and proposed to record the song
“That’s All Right”. The record sold well in Memphis, and was very popular on local radio
stations. After, he started to appear on television. Elvis became famous around the world as
the young man who moved his hips in a sexual way as he sang rock and roll music. He acted
in thirty-one movies. The first was “Love Me Tender” in 1956. He went to the army in
Germany. There he met Priscilla Beaulieu who lived and got married with. Elvis Presley won
many awards from all over the world and three Grammy’s. After extenuate country
presentations, he began to take drugs to help him sleep, and gained a lot of weight so he took
drugs to help control his weight. He suffered of depression too. His last record album was
“Moody Blue”. Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977 of a drug overdose.
