By production of briquette we would enable the producers of biowaste to safely dispose of the
waste from their patches.
The producers of biowaste receive firewood briquettes. 1 ton of briquettes is obtained from 5 tons
of biowaste. Helping farmers to earn money from the waste.

1 What problem are you solving, and who is the customer that will
pay for it?
Your idea is a solution to a problem. Describe the problem you solve with your idea. And tell us who
the customer is that is having this problem and will pay for it. Because after all, this is a business
competition. No business without customers.
Open air burning often causes forest fires and pollutes air. In one week of march we have more
than 100 fires (one deaths) in Zlatibor region. My aim is to produce fuel briquette from raspberry
biological waste. Local household, school, apartments on Zlatibor will be a customer. Briquettes are
cheap, and they burn longer than wood. It is a 100% environmentally friendly natural product.
2 Climate impact
How will it impact climate change? What positive change will your idea bring to the world?
Until now, hundreds of tons of dried pruned canes have usually been burned beside raspberry
patches or next to local roads, or thrown into brooks and watercourses, thus increasing the
emission of CO2.
Briquette from raspberry biological waste is an eco-friendly solid biofuel which helps to reduces
pollution .
Briquette doesn’t contain any harmful substances, aditives or bindings.
Conservation of forest resources 150 tons of briquette = 600 cubic metres of wood.

To build a successful startup you need to search for a repeatable and scalable business model. Tell
us what you have learned so far about the market. In what markets can you sell your product or
service? How big are these markets?
The plan assumes production of 150 tons of briquette in the first year. We aim to sell the briquette
as a firewood briquette for households, for greenhouseheating, to bakers an local school.
We are able to produce firewood briquette at a lower price than the market one.

Collecting, grinding and briquetting of raspberry biowaste left after pruning of raspberry stems. It
has been customary to burn such biowaste after pruning, often causing forest fires and air pollution.

Who are you and what is your motivation to work on this idea? Why are you entering
ClimateLaunchpad?
I am a producer of organic raspberries with the principles of sustainable agriculture. My wish is
clean and green Serbia and protection of its rich biodiversity. I am also associate of the Serbian
Owl Conservation Center .
The concept of ‘zero waste’. This environment-friendly approach minimizes the consumption of
resources and manages waste using the mantra of ‘Reduce, Recycle and Recover’
