Part - A (10x2 = 20 marks)

1. What are the significance of the following in Architecture?


(i) Point, (ii) Line (iii) Plane and (iv) Volume
2. Draw a sun shade blending 'Function' and 'Aesthetics'
3. Define plot coverage for buildings with 'over hangs' and 'without over hangs'.
4. Draw one cluster with provision for central open space.
5. Draw a sketch of a typical 'basement floor' and 'mezzanine floor' with dimensions as
stipulated by NBC
6. What are the basic information that you need to collect to design a factory building?
7. How does sky light help climate responsive buildings?
8. What are the compliance options for materials to be used in the buildings for IGBC
certification?
9. What do you understand by Regional Planning?
10. Draw four sketches to show how water can be used as a feature in landscaping
architecture.
