A. Introduction Activity 1: Lets Go to theAmarket!
Day in the Market
Day 1 Read the following selection.
Mary Jane T. Ganggangan
One Saturday morning, Mother and Jenny went to
buy some things they need in the market.
Jenny: Why did you buy plenty of fish and vegetables,
Mother? Are you going to cook all of these?
Mother:No, my dear. We will put some in the refrigerator. We
can cook them the following day.
Jenny: All right, Mother. Let’s go home now. I’m
excited to taste the food you will cook for us today.
Mother: Sure, I will cook pinakbet, your favorite dish!
Answer the following question in your notebook
1.Where did Mother and Jenny go one Saturday morning?
2.Where are the vendors?
3. Where do they sell their products?
4.Where did Jenny put the fish and vegetables?

adverb is modifying and in what way. Then ask the
students to think of other words like the adverb in the
sentence.
"He ran quickly to the park."
Explain that "quickly" tells how he ran and that many adverbs
explain how something happened. Ask for examples of other
adverbs.
"I came to school yesterday."
Explain that "yesterday" tells when and ask for examples.
"We can play inside."
Explain that "inside" tells where and ask for examples.
Summarize by going over the three categories of adverbs: how,
when, and where.
