3.Enumerate the steps in using a web
browser and in downloading a file
or data, and in making a folder.
WEB BROWSERS
 Web Browsers are application that
enable you to browse the Internet
and access any website in the World
Wide Web.
Web browsers can help information by
accessing the website.
Websites: Youtube, Facebook,
Wikipidea, etc.
Popular Web Browsers
Google Chrome
 Internet
Explorer
 Mozilla Firefox
 Safari
WORLD WIDE WEB
 It can be defined as a source of
information where all web resources
can be found.
 It can be regarded as the UNIVERSE
OF INFORMATION in cyberspace.
 A website is also called a site.
SEARCH ENGINE
 A software program that searches
for websites. This software enables
you to search for any specific
information that you want to access.
 You can easily do this by typing
keywords that you are searching for.
 Popular search engines:
DOWNLOADING
 It is the act of transferring files or
programs from the internet to one’s
device; such as computer or mobile
phone.
 It can also be a process of
transferring a file from one computer to
another.
 You can download any data in the form
of software, programs, documents,
images, music, videos and others.
STEPS IN USING WEB BROWSER
1. Turn on the computer.
2. Key in the password, if needed.
3. Choose what web browser to use.
4. Open the chosen web browser.
• Click on the selected web browser’s icon,
right click, and then click Open.
• Double-click on the selected web browser.
5. Type in the URL of the website you
wish to visit, then press enter.
STEPS IN DOWNLOADING A FILE OR
DATA
1. In the web browser, type in the address or
URL, of your desired website
2. In the web browser Google Chrome, for
instance, you can directly type the key
words “steps in making a research paper,
"then click SEARCH.
3. Choose any of the websites you desire.
4. Select the page you desire by clicking the
right button of your mouse.
5. The page you selected will be copied or
transferred to your desired file system.
COMPUTER FILE SYSTEM
 A method or process of storing and
organizing computer data and files.
 One of the basic computer file
systems you can do is creating
folders for your files or documents.
 You can organize the files in
creating folders for different kinds
of files.
SIMPLE WAYS OF MAKING FOLDERS
1. Right-click on an empty space on your
desktop.
2. In the Options box that will appear,
choose New, then click Folder.
3. A folder will be created with a
default name of New Folder.
4. Type your desired name for your
folder.
5. When you open the new folder, it will
be empty. You may transfer the file or
files you want to save on that folder.
