Lab 2.1 Improving Computer Performance
Lab 2.1 Improving Computer Performance
1. Objective(s):
The activity aims to demonstrate and introduce how to improve the computer performance
2. Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs):
The students shall be able to:
1. Apply different task to improve the performance of a computer
Uninstall unnecessary software
Check for spyware and viruses
Limit the programs at startup
Eliminate unnecessary visual
2. Document all the activities done on their desktop/laptop
3. Discussion
At some point, both machines will encounter slower speeds. The way your PC responds to these
changes as software becomes more challenging will have a significant effect on its results. The operating
system you're using, as well as whether or not you've opted to update to Windows 10, will make a
significant difference.
Although there are some changes you can make to your laptop to make it run quicker, there are some
enhancements that are more cost-effective and simple to implement. These small changes do not seem
to speed up your computer's output, but when combined, they will allow you to keep your PC running for
years.
There are also several types of software available that can help you to get rid of old files while locating
applications that you don’t use often and may want to uninstall. These programs can also alert you to
files and software that may be the causes for a slow computer and may ultimately be worth deleting.

6. Consider installing two types of software for computer performance monitoring. Malware
cleanup programs can solve lagging or blatant issues with speed or popups. However, you
should also look into applications that offer ongoing protection and run in the background.
Again, keep in mind that these antivirus programs take up space, so you want to choose one
that is designed not to affect performance.
(Paste your screenshot below if you have Third-party programs)
8. What are the things you can see when you open the task manager?

6. Conclusion:
What conclusion can you make based on the activity? (2 paragraph)
I can conclude based on this laboratory activity that I can edit and manage how my computer performs. I
can adjust things that I know that can affect the performance of my computer. Especially for me, I want my
pc to be used for school purposes while also playing games. Now I can adjust the settings to have the
best performance compatible for both my needs.
