1. When the Earth was formed, it was a big ball of dust and gases.
2. The crust, mantle and core are the layers of the Earth.
3. Crust is the outer layer of the Earth. It is where we live.
4. Mantle is the part between crust and core. It is made of hot rocks.
5. Core is in the centre of the Earth. It is made of hot metals and the hottest layer of the
Earth.
6. The Earth’s shape is like a round ball but slightly flattened at the top and bottom.
7. The rotation of the Earth causes day and night. It takes 24 hours for the earth to
complete one rotation.
8. The part of the Earth which is facing the Sun has day while the part of the Earth
which is facing away from the Sun has night.
9. The movement of the Earth around the sun is called revolution. It takes the Earth 365
days to complete one revolution around the Sun.
10. The revolution of the Earth around the Sun causes the seasons.
