1 About this Release

LEICA Geo Office (LGO) is the office software, which accompanies the
LEICA Viva series. It supports all measurement types (TPS, GNSS and level
data) and is the ideal tool to view, process, quality-check and archive data
before exporting it to virtually any format required by subsequent mapping or
engineering software packages.
While LEICA Geo Office is the perfect partner for Viva GNSS and TPS
instruments, it also supports the FlexLine series as well as the existing range
LEICA GEO OFFICE of TPS, GNSS and Level instruments.

2 What’s new in Version 8.4

OVERVIEW Leica Geo Office version 8.4 includes the following improvements. It requires a
valid software maintenance (not expiring before December 5th, 2014):
 LGO version 8.4 fully supports GNSS raw data including Beidou satellite
signals. BDS data can be imported from SmartWorx raw data or from
RINEX files. Satellite data will be displayed and processed, and results
are shown in reports and residual plots. Almanacs can be imported and
BDS satellites are included in the Satellite Availability component.
 LGO 8.4 imports and exports RINEX version 3.02 files. RINEX version
2.11 is also still supported.
 The GNSS processing of LGO 8.4 has been improved in general. A
combination of all available satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo,
Beidou) will be processed at up to 50 Hz raw data logging rates.
 All currently released Leica sensor and antenna models are now
supported as system defaults.

SUPPORTED OPERATING The following Microsoft® Windows™ operating systems are supported and
SYSTEMS recommended:
 Windows 7
 Windows 8 / 8.1
Note that due to the missing support of Mobile Device Center and ActiveSync
under Windows 8, USB communication is no longer supported for RX1250/RX900
and TS06/09 instruments. For TS06/09 instruments data can be transferred using
the serial port or via a removable USB stick (recommended).
LEICA Geo Office version 8.4 works under both 32-bit and 64-bit operating
systems. Note that you must have administrative rights on your computer to
successfully install LEICA Geo Office.

INSTALLATION NOTE FOR To be able to use a floating license of LGO 8.4 it is required to update the CLM
FLOATING LICENSES Tools on your server first. To do so run the Full Server Package 1.4, which is
available on your LEICA Geo Office DVD or can be downloaded from the Leica
Geosystems website.
