Labour and delivery techniques that can increase the likelihood that breastfeeding will begin
successfully.
✔ Mother-friendly care policy which allows the husband to accompany the mother, allows light
meals during labour, and non-drug methods of pain relief
✔ Skin-to-skin immediately after birth

2. Importance of rooming-in
● Mothers will recognize baby feeding cues
