The table shows the proportions of young Japanese males and females who
listened to music on MP3 players, online, on CDs and at concerts over the
previous month. The pie chart indicating whether they preferred live or
recorded music.
It is clear from the pie chart that the vast majority of both sexes were keener
on live music than recorded music. To specify, live music fans account for 70%,
whereas only 26% of surveyed people said they were in favour of recorded
music.
As can be seen from the table, the proportions of males choosing live music,
MP3 players and the Internet outweighed those of females. The figures for
males were all over 50 percent, with the highest on (79%) belonging to MP3
players. Whereas, the percentages for females were all less than 50%, with the
highest one (44%) belonging to live music.
By contrast, both male and female listeners included roughly proportion from
CDs: 19% and 22%, respectively.
Task 2: Travellers and business people often come into contact with
other cultures briefly. What are the main advantages and disvantages
of doing so?
It is widely accepted that we were at the time when international relations are
most. People make contact with other cultrures, both during travel and as a
part of their work.
