Education
Aloha! It has been an exciting three weeks as we met our families and have the children get acquainted with the rules and routines of this classroom. Thank you to all families that took the time and effort to come to your child's Parent Orientation. We hope that for those returning families that it was a good review and for those new families that the information shared was not too overwhelming. Please note that the DIAL III that was given to each child is a screening tool which informs us if your child needs additional services. If there were concerns, Ms. Christine will meet with those families to discuss concerns. Any questions or concerns, please feel free to come and see Ms. Christine and Ms. Wendy. Also, mahalo for inviting us into your homes to meet or say hello again to your child. Home visits helped children ease into the transition from home to preschool.

Classroom Orientation
Check In Upon entering the classroom, the children will get one pump from the sanitizer, remove their footwear, and check in by searching for their first name and picture and placing their name card in a pocket chart. The children will then see what centers are open and proceed to the center of their choice. Additional routines and rules will be added.
Circle Time
We gather on the large carpet with movement and start the morning with a pule (prayer). We sang Hello, Good Morning Lord, and Aloha Kakahiaka. We then listen to a story using props and a flannel board.
Centers
We introduced all centers: Manipulatives, Puzzles, Library, Drama, Math, Science, Listening, Writing, Art, Play Dough, Easel, Big Books, Calendar and Computers. Outdoor Play We introduce the apparatus and covered the rules. We also introduced the tricycles and equipment.
Language Arts
We read the story My Friend Bear by Jez Alborough. The following reading concepts were discussed; prediction, title and picture clues. We also read aloud many books that you can find in our classroom library. As we read the story David Goes to School, we discussed rules of a classroom. We went over aloha and malama. See our bulletin board for student's comments on the values/expectations.
Circle Time
We end the day by sharing what we did and ending with a pule and song entitled, your child's Keiki Song Book for words. Aloha A Hui Hou. See
