COURSE DESCRIPTION
The objective of the course is to give students an introduction to elementary concepts in probability and statistics and their application in the
field of economics. It aims to equip students with a thorough understanding or important areas in statistics and prepare them for advanced
courses in econometrics. Topics include basic probability models and combinatorics, random variables, discrete and continuous probability
distributions, data description, statistical estimation and testing, confidence interval and an introduction to linear regression.
