INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE FINAL PAPER

Things to remember:

The main goal of the final paper is to write a CRITICAL ANALYSIS of one of the BLs. This is where to pick a
topic, pick an approach(es), and analyze its content. This is NOT A FILM REVIEW. In this paper, we are
not concerned about the artistic merits of the BL. We will focus on the content.

The paper needs to be in FIVE paragraphs with a unique title that cannot be just the title of the BL. The
title of your paper should clearly reflect the content of your analysis.

PARAGRAPH 1 – Should include a very brief description of the topic that you would like to discuss within
the BL and the thesis statement should clearly state your position in your chosen topic as reflected in
the content of the BL. The thesis statement NEEDS to be highlighted in YELLOW.

PARAGRAPH 2 – This should contain your first argument stated in ONE SENTENCE. THIS NEEDS TO BE
HIGHLIGHTED IN YELLOW. It should be backed up with the evidence which should be a particular scene
from the BL. You need to describe the scene. After the description, in parenthesis, specify the Episode
number and the time reference (for example, Episode 2, Part 1, 10:30). After citing the scene, you
should explain how this scene supports your argument.

PARAGRAPH 3 – This should contain your second argument stated in ONE SENTENCE. THIS NEEDS TO BE
HIGHLIGHTED IN YELLOW. It should be backed up with the evidence which should be a particular scene
from the BL. You need to describe the scene. After the description, in parenthesis, specify the Episode
number and the time reference (for example, Episode 3, Part 2, 5:30). After citing the scene, you should
explain how this scene supports your argument.

PARAGRAPH 4 This should contain your third argument stated in ONE SENTENCE. THIS NEEDS TO BE
HIGHLIGHTED IN YELLOW. It should be backed up with the evidence which should be a particular scene
from the BL. You need to describe the scene. After the description, in parenthesis, specify the Episode
number and the time reference (for example, Episode 5, Part 1, 12:00). After citing the scene, you
should explain how this scene proves your evaluation.

PARAGRAPH 5 – Should be the recap of your evaluations, a reiteration of your recommendation, and
your conclusion.
The whole paper should be NO LESS THAN 2 BUT NO MORE than 3 pages. Use Times New Roman 12,
regular, double-spaced. USE WORD FILE only. No PDFs or any other file types will be accepted. Do not
put your submission in a PUP stationery.
