Questionnaire

The researchers will conduct a study in the barangays of Parasan, Daram, and Samar in the Philippines. They will visit barangay halls to determine the total population of respondents. The researchers hope to randomly sample 40% of the population, incorporating representatives from each family, usually the head of the local family. The primary tool for gathering data will be a survey questionnaire using a Likert scale. The survey aims to determine the significance of building retaining walls and the area's susceptibility to landslides, as well as residents' thoughts on the study. The surveys will undergo expert validation and pilot testing to ensure the questions are sensitive, overused, or fail to address the topic. Engineer Noel S

Sampling Procedure

The residents of Parasan, Daram, and Samar are the study's

intended target group. The researchers will visit the barangay

hall to inquire about the total number of households in the

barangay in order to determine the total population of the

respondents.

The researchers hope to incorporate a sample size of only

40% of the population were selected at random sampling technique.

Consequently, the sampling procedure will involve the

representatives from each family, usually the head local family

members.

Research Instrument

The primary tool for gathering relevant data, which is

essential to the study, will be a survey questionnaire using a

Likert-type scale. The survey questionnaire will open the door to

obtaining information that will help determine the significance

of building retaining walls and other characteristics that

represent the area's susceptibility to landslides as well as the

residence thoughts towards the study.

Additionally, the surveys will go through expert validation

and pilot testing to see if the information is sensitive,

overused, or does not address the topic questions.

Engineer Noel S. Palomas, a research instructor at the

College of Engineering at Samar State University, will do the

expert validation of the surveys. Furthermore, the pilot testing

will take place in the Samar village of Barangay Parasan, in

Daram.
